Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. Since March 25th's unlinking update, only Twitch accounts are now eligible to be unlinked from Bungie profiles. Further, as Bungie entrusts players with the security and management regarding linking their accounts, we do not unlink any accounts on players' behalf. Further, in the case of compromised accounts, we're unable to assist you, and your only recourse is to contact the appropriate platform's support. Account security is up to each player, and we encourage players to secure their game accounts by following our Account Security Guide so that they don’t have a chance to be compromised.

This is a very convenient response for you. There is currently a security flaw that VIOLATES your privacy policy, where someone else can access your account, so you need to act on this, because there is no point in "TRUSTING" the user for security, if the security has already been compromised. This transfer of responsibility is not acceptable and should not be the stance of a company, especially because we are the users who pay for the content and DLCs, not a free user, especially a large company like you Bungie, which does not have a protocol to unlink a compromised account. And there is no point in sending an account security guide so that it "is not compromised" if it has already been compromised, this guide is useless. It is important for you to be aware that my Xbox account, Playstation or Steam account is not compromised, what is compromised is the security of my BUNGIE.NET account and consequently any game that I or someone else plays from you, because there is an account that is not yours that is linked to your account.

  • Weird of you to complain about Bungie’s flaws when we are in 2025 & people are still clicking on free gift card links!

  • Unfortunately, I am not a perfect human being. Yes, unfortunately, I make mistakes and I admit that I made mistakes. I do not deny that, and I am not just fighting for my rights, but for many people who accidentally try to recover their accounts fairly. The company has the resources to do so and does not take a stance to resolve the issue.

  • They actually don’t have the resources. Bungie doesn’t have your platform login credentials. Thus, why they can’t add/remove any accounts on their own.

  • The link was sent by a friend who was also hacked, but doesn't play Destiny. But that doesn't erase the fact that there are flaws at Bungie, a multi-million dollar company that needs to improve its processes. No one is immune to errors and flaws, but not recognizing that they exist, occur and violate their own policies when they are not resolved, that is the main problem. Still, we have a security flaw at Bungie that needs to be resolved. My Steam account was promptly recovered by Valve, now Bungie needs to resolve its side.

  •
My Steam account was promptly recovered by Valve, now Bungie needs to resolve its side.
Which isn't going to happen unless either Sony or a Court forces their hand. If they had any intention of letting people unlink (or have their own player support staff) forcibly swap/unlink unauthorised accounts they wouldn't have tripled down on their linking stance by now making their Bungie.net linkage permanent.

  • How does it violate their policy? The policy states that Bungie won’t unlink accounts.

  • Yes, it does violate, because it says that "other people" should not access your account, and this unauthorized account does exactly that.

  • Wait for a moder to answer, don't waist your time with them. A huge company like Bungie should solve these issues.

  •
Wait for a moder to answer, don't waist your time with them.
Bungie already answered OP and told them they aren't unlinking it.

  • It was an auto answer on how to prevent it, not how to solve it. He needs a solution, not a tutorial on "how you can avoid this in the future". In fact, it was the worst answer I've ever seen.

  • They're copy + pasted but not automated answers. They are told in that response though Bungies stance that they will not do it.
Further, as Bungie entrusts players with the security and management regarding linking their accounts, we do not unlink any accounts on players' behalf.
OP isn't getting any solution from Bungie. Bungie are simply and will continue to reinforce their stance that they aren't doing it and it's OPs problem to fix. Bungie are washing their hands of it so OPs only actual option is to go the legal route and hope that a court (or relevant legal body) agrees with them and orders Bungie to unlink it. GDPR could apply here but in any of the given outcomes Bungie can also simply ban OP for account sharing regardless of their claim that they were hacked and put the entire thing to an end. If any of the mentors also respond, they'll be reinforcing Bungies above response that Bungie will not unlink it.

Nope. You are likely reading about having other people play on your account. That’s different. Regardless, your profile is stuck with this other account attached to it because you failed to follow normal internet protocols about clicking malicious links.
