You need to obtain and fully complete the 'The Taken Path' quest line to turn in that item.

Thanks for the feedback. I did obtain and complete “The Taken Path” quest, that’s how I got the Barrow-Dyad.

Your triumphs say you haven't finished it, Its possible to obtain the exotic without that quest by simply joining someone else for the mission. Check your quest log on all characters and the Shaping Slab (Path of Resolve) to see if you abandoned it.
