Please do something about this. It could be as easy as adding 1 minute to the time in each encounter and keep the normal timers in master. To many people think the raid is unapproachable and they’re right when they get into a group with 4 new players. It’s such an amazing raid and more people should have the confidence to do it.

1 ReplyTbh the whole raid has to get reworked pretty heavy to make the player population playing it go up, and I mean get rid of whole mechanics completely rework but that’s not happening to the raid is just gonna die. Kinda lame for the grand finally of raids

It's the raid that killed D2. Look at the drop-off since that raid was dropped. King's Fall is fun. Deep stone is the group friendliest raid ever. Every person has fun in that raid. Imo, that's how raids should be. So the question is, would bungie like 25 percent of the playerbase be happy for a raid and play it repeatedly or 40 percent or higher of the playerbase logging into the game playing? No brainer. Any legitimate business owner wants the more, not the less. Bungie catered to the less. That will fail every time

19 RepliesEdited by Veg 317: 4/13/2025 3:06:07 AMHard-core players wanted a challenge. That challenge is unfun to most most player. This raid doesn't even look fun or inviting to many players.

2 RepliesEdited by Ferus Lux: 4/13/2025 11:36:39 PMThe weapon and armor designs made it easy to not lose sleep over not doing this raid. Why couldn't we get Black Pyramid power suits with the lights streaming through the arms, boots, and helmet? I'm not gonna willingly put my Guardian into an action figure stand to pose for the Witness. Why couldn't weapons have souls and faces streaming off of them like the Witnesses body? They dropped the ball hard on this gear set.

Edited by ReverendZiggs: 4/14/2025 7:32:25 PMThere's nothing they can do, what do you mean? Most players dipped after they got what they wanted from it, and now all that's left are the trash double primary players. Nothing they do can fix that, especially with player pop in the actual toilet.

It’s too mechanically complex for the average d2 player. It’s exactly what the hardcore player asked for but ofc being hardcore players they grinded everything in that raid in a month and have no need to return. There’s nothing you can really do to inflate numbers in that raid aside from adding a game breaking incentive for suffering through it
-
6 RepliesTbh if people dont do the raid (like myself) its also beccause the loot is really bad or average at best. And that most encounters are just a chore. The 2 last encounters are fine because one is original and the final boss is a funny dps phase. But the rest....jumo on plate...leave plate...jump on plate...leave plate.... Yeah yeah we got it...

Never touched the raid and never will The weapons are mid. The mechanics are garbage after “attempting” to watch guides No one plays full raids anymore unless they’re chasing for red boarders
anyone who still plays this raid just kills the witness
Not worth the headache.
-
The problem with it is the fact that it’s so mechanic heavy, that if you don’t have and entire good fire team you’re cooked, it’s just annoying as well to go against subjugators and tormentors over and over, it’s just a hassle in general and that shouldn’t be the case when I’m trying to raid
-
way to mechanicy for my taste, and it's simply not fun.
-
32 RepliesIt’s the worst raid in the game. And is the only raid I refuse to touch.

Never touching that raid 🤡
-
6 RepliesIt’s fine that it exists, but I don’t think we need another at its level again.

1 ReplyEdited by Cooper: 4/15/2025 3:55:00 PMBro I took one look a verity and said oh hell no. I've done pretty much every raid - dungeon up to that point but hearing someone explain that made me so lost I could only imagine how tedious that encounter would be through LFG where people are far from patient. Not to mention the loot is pretty mid & the armor is ugly.

1 ReplyOnly solution is to bring back leviathan or wrath of the machine

1 ReplyStill haven’t done the raid. normally I do raiding all the time with other expansions, but since this one I haven’t touched one. At this point i also think it’s to late getting into these new raids and dungeons because players don’t really want to teach anymore…
-
17 RepliesI'll admit this was the 1st raid, I never wanted to play after watching the contest mode. It's too mechanics heavy and complicated for LFG, which is what most Destiny players use. Personally, I think Deepstone crypt should be the gold standard. Raids should be a fun 45min -1 hour adventure with 6 players. Which only requires 2-3 players to actually know what to do, in order to clear the encounter. This would makes raids accessible for more players boosting play time. Also revive tokens should only exist is master mode. I'm tired of the current, "things aren't perfect. Everybody wipe." Mentality.

The last raid in the light and darkness saga, and they make it for 5% of the playerbase. Genius!
-
Every other raid looks fun but salvations edge, I like to do gm’s for fun cause they’re easy but SE still look’s unapproachable cause it looks so complicated and time consuming for no reason
-
9 RepliesWas gonna try it so i started watching a video about it. After 20 min. Of explanation i just decided to never run this overcomplicated mess lol. It's just not for me but I'm glad you like it.
-
3 RepliesYou have a point, ive done all the raids and dungeons but salvations edge. It’s the heavy mechanics, i just dont have time to spen in raids often. Even the new dungeon I find tedious due to the mechanics. The older i get the less patience i have for these things. The other issue is like you mentioned, if i want to jump in now the population isnt high enough to get a team. Hell i have issues getting people to run the new dungeon as well.
-
Its really sad that the final raid of the saga was so inaccessible for so many due to the heavy mechanics. VArity is a -blam!-, we all know it. With fewer and fewer players playing, I really had hoped Bungie would create a more friendly raid for everyone to enjoy.. not the smallest group of people to ever complete a raid in destiny. Just a horrible way to end the saga.

1 ReplyThe timer is a factor for scaring away newer players, but it isn't the main reason.
-
I watched the meme that was created with Skeletor explaining the raid and laughed my butt off. Afterwards I commented to my son who showed me the video that will probably have one of the lowest participation rates of any raid. What's the purpose? How does that enhance or keep D2 alive? I often wonder at the decision making at Bungie. Make the raid on normal mode enjoyable for the majority and ramp it up to a kick in the Crota nut sack on expert for those that feel the need to suffer while raiding. Heck they could even have an impossible mode; red bars one shot all the while fire and ice is raining down from the sky with snipers on every vantage point and a boss with 50 mil health. There are solutions to the problems that plague the game not sure why the devs struggle so much to make some of the end game content more enjoyable.

2 RepliesIt’ll remain an endpoint. Unlock all the weapons and farm secret chests/witness cp weekly till content. Clan access is the only hope to finish that

5 RepliesEdited by S I L E N C E: 4/13/2025 9:37:21 AMIt's a very fun raid. However it suffers from expecting 1 person to multitask & handle many jobs at once in non-ideal circumstances. This makes it harder to teach because the person you are teaching has to be good enough at the game to handle the challenge. ex: a room full of psions pulling you or slowing you as the plate is about to light up. Each encounter is divided into 3 parts. and then repeats those parts a # of times. This makes it difficult to explain all at once, and difficult to teach while in the middle of the encounter due to the timer. 2nd encounter:
Part 1: Kill adds, Kill 2nd wave of adds, Bounce plate twice Part 2: Called to reckoning, shoot blights, shoot taniks face, *overlapping callout for pillar* Part 3: pick up shapes, shoot pillar, run to the deposit box, DPS.
3rd Encounter
Part 1 Kill Tormentors, read pillar callout, Bounce plates, *Watch for turrets* Part 2: fail & spawn subjugator, kill subby, pick up shapes & close. Part 3: *watch for turrets*, deposit, kill unstop, open door....repeat part 1 in new room. (oh and closing plates are in different locations :] )
The raid has some pretty major bugs.
2nd encounter box will sometimes not spawn in 3rd encounter box may be delayed or not spawn in. 4th encounter has a lot of bugs. -Cloth bugging out & covering your screen -Depositing when *Witness notices efforts* could soft-lock - Possible to duplicate people's ghosts. -Players are invisible so you can't call out during ghost phase. 5th encounter: Sometimes a hand from the witness will just leave & never spawn in again leading to a potential wipe.
It's a really cool raid. It actually feels like a raid (as someone who came from world of warcraft before Destiny 1). It is really fun from the perspective of an endgame player. But it is one of the toughest experiences for a casual raider by far without a doubt. And as a result the player population for this raid hasn't been good.
