I don't see why one has to replace the other.
I think battlegrounds are overhated, and I honestly enjoy them quite a bit. I'd be sad to see them gone. I wouldn't call any of them my favorite, but other than the savathun projection fights in the psiops battlegrounds they are all pretty far from my least favorite too.
I think, overall, it would be better to have both.

The frequency they seem to come up could do with a bit of tweaking, I think.

I think this is the main issue most people have. If each battleground had their chance cut to 1/3rd, I think most people would be happy.

I don't mind Battlegrounds for what they are but earlier this evening, I went into Vanguard Ops 3 times with the first and third being Europa and Mars Battlegrounds. That's a little much. Of course, that's a very limited sample since I could've run 10 more and perhaps gotten none at all afterward so it's not really definitive proof of an issue with how common they are.

I saw one person saying that each battleground should roll as a variant of that seasons battleground rather than as an individual strike, and I think that'd be a good solution. Make each seasons battleground as likely to roll as an individual strike, and then have it be 1 in 3 as to which one you get from that season.
