I never grab the gear from the season pass till im almost pinnacle cap, that way the armour an weapons should all be max level so i dont have to chase the ever elusive last bit of kit i need to be maxed out

If you don’t have a 2020 class item your overall power would still be 2019. As such the mark in the pass would also be 2019. You would still need the drop. Your comment would only work on the other characters once u are at max.

I can honestly say that my character was 2019 but missing a kinetic 2020 and all my season pass items left were all 2020 which i hadnt noticed but clearly made me smile. Glitch, lucky, how it worked as was max everything else….i dunno. Will have to wait till next season to confirm. As a side note, i also leave engrams etc that i dont need till following season for kinda same reason as they all drop at your current light so again if your not dropping something, you can use your pre season pass to help
