It's my opinion that this is all a calculated risk intended to push people onto Marathon. If true, it would illustrate the ethically challenged ethos of the team. Weighted drops, forced participation in non typical participation events by gamers.. not everyone is a PVP /PVE fan. Really a lot of bad decisions that increase login time and decrease QOL gaming experiences.
I'm not saying they need to accommodate everyone and make things easy.. They dance on a slippery slope of ethical game developer practices..

I wouldn’t really say that’s their intent. It’s more of a side effect because bungie probably has their senior designers and developers on Marathon while destiny has got the newer talent which degrades content quality significantly (and might explain all the bugs post final shape).

After almost 10 years with Destiny and Destiny 2 with all this constant headache and stress level. Marathon is not even considered into my game library.
-
Agreed..

This is a manic take.
This is a manic take.
Indeed.. You certainly left a manic take.
It's my opinion that this is all a calculated risk intended to push people onto Marathon.
I'm always amazed with the nonsense conspiracy theories people come up with lol

Its not a conspiracy theory.. its critical thinking and logical analysis.. Planned obsolescence In economics and industrial design, planned obsolescence is the concept of policies planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life or a purposely frail design, so that it becomes obsolete after a certain predetermined period of time upon which it decrementally functions or suddenly ceases to function, or might be perceived as unfashionable. The rationale behind this strategy is to generate long-term sales volume by reducing the time between repeat purchases

I stopped reading at "critical thinking." 🤣🤣🤣

Edited by 堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH): 4/9/2025 6:56:33 PMGame companies killing off existing franchises in order to get more players into newer titles isnt something thats made-up or even new. This is a practice thats existed for decades. Especially companies like EA.
You're honestly an idiot
EA, Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft. Yeah, a pretty common thing, not gonna lie. Hate that it is a common thing, but can't deny it's there.
-
Of course you did.. You dont even know what it means
-
Pushing people for marathon… something that’s probably PVP only, yeah, this is a company disaster waiting to happen.
-
They probably are clinging to a lost cost fallacy and see the current out of date I.P. and free to play stance as bleeding money.. and banking on Marathon taking angry halo 5 players and cod players with Destiny players who want a pvp focused sandbox I think they are over estimating their strengths
-
Edited by 堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH): 4/11/2025 2:09:41 AMThey are 40,000% overestimating their strength and ability to make a pvp game. Because those same players they're trying to cater to, can NEVER be happy. No matter what nerfs they give them, no matter what abilities they take from players, those pvp tryhards CANT be happy. No matter what you do to appease them. Meanwhile most of those we see constantly crying about pvp, are exclusively D2 players. Not even early D2 either... Most of them would likely uninstall if the game went back to how it was in D1 pvp. Where everything was potent, healing didnt exist, and abilities and grenades were going off left and right. Even pre forsaken pvp managed to still be fun.

D1 Was the great equalizer.. The first 2 week of pre-nerfed prison of elders.. ooh man.. when me and a team finally finished.. we already spent at least 40 hours just working out the mechanics and timing.. the winning game was like 8hrs.. it was grandmaster nightfall on +1000 I will miss the game when its no longer avail... I do admit that

This is why I walked away just like so many others a long time ago. Bungie very clearly are using the same pvp crybabies to keep their numbers up, because they're the most obsessed over the game. They know damn well they wont stop paying to play. Same goes for the obvious cheater situation they wont do anything about. Meanwhile they only really complain over things that are trivial at best. Imo all guns should be equally strong and viable, but of course they dont. Hence why they feel as though only hc's and shotguns should be allowed to dominate. "Too many hunter in pvp" "Hunter OP, thats why so many hunters" Last time I checked, most of the playerbase are hunters. Always has been. But most of the playerbase are casuals who are average at best...

And leave basically EVERY PVE Players behind… And i thought i couldn’t see lower blows than what i’ve seen with some companies. Yep, Bungie is sqwawking doomed.
-
Edited by 堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH): 4/9/2025 7:08:52 PMThey've basically already been doing that with how they've been treating pve. Now you HAVE to play like they want you to play. Because the pve tryhards that always scream the game is too easy, wouldnt ever stfu. Or just use lower light lv gear. They've messed and tampered with armor and weapon mods so much its ridiculous. No longer can you just slap on any armor and exotics you feel will suit you best. Either you use the weapons bungie decides you use (champions) along with the elements they say is useful, or you keep failing miserably. Then somehow, clueless lemmings keep defending bungie and what the game turned into.
