Got divinity exotic - interesing story
So I was about 3/4 done with raid when my xbox started acting up. No sound from party/game chat in either direction.
Kicked from fireteam, rebooted xbox and rejoined at the boss to at least get a clear(1st one for me)
After killing boss and going to the two chests thinking I would not get exotic, was supprized that I still got it.
So if something similar happens, don’t lose hope. Might still work out. I had always heard if you leave and come back, you cannot finish the quest. It appears that is not nessesarily true.

It appears that is not nessesarily true.[/quote] The quest serves as the 'key' for the chest at the end. You can join a run at the end with the puzzles done and get div. However the divinity puzzles must be done in one run, if everyone leaves and the instance ends you cannot restart from a checkpoint and still get div. Side note if anyone wants divinity send me a friend request. Even you shy no mic players. Just have quest on step 4 and at least hear vc or read text chat. No experience needed.

As long as all the puzzles are cleared it's still a divi run. The problem is if you are the one to activate the puzzles at thr beginning. Turn your quest in, then leave, as if I remember correctly activating them ate your quest. They may have fixed that at some point though. Congrats on both your first clear and getting divi 🍻. I always thought it was a fun sherpa.

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 4/7/2025 1:45:37 AM[quote]After killing boss and going to the two chests thinking I would not get exotic, was supprized that I still got it.[/quote] Because it's a quest, as long as a player has the key and the team (the raid instance) has done all pre-requisite steps in it it's a guaranteed drop ([b]chest needs to be manually opened[/b]) Your only luck was being able to rejoin & also the fireteam lead not outing you again like prior, if they were doing a Div run then someone else in the team also had their key as well so that's why the chest was there. Div is the one and only time Bungo made it a guaranteed reward for putting in effort outta all other raid exotics, but because people told Bungie (for whatever reason) they didn't like having to jump through a few hoops to get their 100% instant reward that ISN'T rng they never made any other questline like it ever again... It's wild that people would rather farm a raid for the exotic than just doing a few puzzles to get it if you got what you need to claim it. I wish we had more raid exotics be tied to a quest than it being rng, like some people to this day don't have Vex, EyesOT, etc, so just making them guaranteed as long as you go through the effort of getting some stuff done would be great for those who don't have em, dungeon exotics should also be like that

2 RepliesAt this point older Raids should drop their respective Exotic after a full clear. I understand the newer ones should be RNG but how old is VoG and Last Wish? 🤷♂️

It’s nice that Bungie tied the quest to the raid itself and not individual progress. Moments like that would be awful then. Similar to why I spent 8 hours on nez in pantheon 🤣 wasn’t leaving that bonus score

As long as the whole team didn't leave the GoS Raid and all the exotic puzzles are done before the final boss then the Divinity exotic quest + chest should still reward you raid exotic after the final boss is defeated.
