They could keep it.... But they need to remove all of the downsides... Normal gameplay, but Reward you for swapping weapons of the matching type.....No punishment for not using the suggested weapons on the modifier.... Simple. As. Not being able to score a kill (justifiably) with an exotic TRACE RIFLE on a red bar Scorn LURKER is ridiculous. A whole day of the strike playlist being borderline unplayable

 • They have too many weapons on one side of the spectrum with two or threes on the other side and smgs are hot trash in PVE right now so it’s really unbalanced
They have too many weapons on one side of the spectrum with two or threes on the other side and smgs are hot trash in PVE right now so it’s really unbalanced
I agree for the most part. i'd say, Oscillation is such a bad modifier because its always the same weapons choices that never change. (that being 1 of the main problems with it) At first I thought it would work like the "Savathun's worm" modifier where there are different presets of weapon loadouts (like how Prestige modifier worked back in Year 1) But as always they drop the bag AGAIN and made a worse version of a year 1 modifier specifically set for shotguns. SMGs, and grenade launchers. -they needed a rotating preset because as it is currently strikes are not fun to play for a day. My counter-take is that the damage buff you do receive for playing with the modifier is substantial. it hits very very hard. (overkill in regular strike content though) That is the one thing it does very well.
smgs are hot trash in PVE right
Curious to know how you've reached this conclusion as SMGs have felt mostly the same for the past year.....(they did feel a little weaker after final shape due to body shot damage decrease, but have been widely usable in a lot of content) For me SMGs are more usable than sidearms & been consistent for while now, Poor sidearms can barely hold their own anymore, truly saddening as a sidearm enjoyer. 900 SMGs have always been the go to for years & have always been meta. 600's feel decent i really like adjudicator from prophecy. haven't used a 720 in a while, don't have the fondest memory of them since the last time i used one.
