Horrible negative modify. Any modifier that forces you to play a certain way that's makes you unable to use weapons you like/actually want to use should never be in the game. Period.
No modifiers force you to play a certain way. You can use whatever weapons you like, the modifier doesn't make any weapons unusable. It's a modifier that is both negative and positive and is really something to pay attention to when it's in high end content not vanguard strikes.

 • Really? It doesn't make weapons unusable? When my machine gun, linear fusion, RPG, sword, what have you deal next to no damage, that's a problem. At least I can still get some kind of use out of my support frame.

 • In no way is it "fun" to push players into certain loadouts in a regular strike. It doesn't matter if the content is easy. I don't want to play if I actively know I'm not doing normal damage simply "because."

 • In an FPS game it does kind of make weapons unusable(not in a literal sense though), as you don't see people going... "Wow I really like how this gun feels now that it takes half a mag to kill an enemy rather than a few bullets!" I like the power of oscillation but can see that its a problem with how limiting it is, would like a rework to allow more choice in weapons.

 • It's the "Other weapon types deal significantly less damage." part that basically is saying if you don't use the oscillating weapons, then less damage overall. Which means, forced to not use an auto for example because it will always have less damage. Thats the issue I have.

In no way is it forced or even a requirement to use specific weapons. It's a choice to use the modifier to your advantage or not. Yeah I get you don't like the modifier but your reasoning about being forced makes absolutely no sense. Many others didn't like it when it was in GMs and it looks like bungie removed that modifier from GMs

 • Do you even play the game? You are literally forced to use oscillation weapons, any other weapon type deals like half damage. Nobody is going in with that crutch.

 • It makes perfect sense though? The issue people have is being shoehorned into specific weapons. If you use an auto you deal half damage If you use a sniper you deal half damage And even if you use 1 weapon in the list if you use 1 that isn't both will deal half damage because you don't meet the requirement. This is forcing you to use specific weapons.
