I agree with all of this, except the melee.
The shuriken is my favorite melee in the game.
I don't want anything changed with it, perfectly tuned, imo.
It goes where you aim it, I don't want any tracking on the initial throw at all.
It rarely whiffs. It chains beyond its stated capabilities. The tighter the mob the better it is.
I like the speed. You can't adjust your aim after input... this isn't true for all melees where you can finesse the directionals as the animation comes out. Use the gun reticle to consistently hit your mark.
Eventually you won't have to think about it. But you need to be on target.

It's definitely my favourite Hunter melee too. I used to run an assassins cowl build with it which worked pretty well at the time. The bounces are really satisfying especially when you get an invisibility tick a few times. I just wish there were better prism Hunter builds with it.

It's not melee focused but it combos extremely well with Mothkeepers on prismatic. And I don't know it it's intended, but the artifact is doing weird things with the kit. I'm building bolt charge way faster than I should, I'm running stasis weapons. Arc buffs are triggering the artifact mods for the super regen and dmg bonus. It's buffing my abilities for some reason I can't explain. I was in master LSs yesterday 12 under... if I through a moth at an unstopp it stuns and does like 1/4-1/3 dmg to their health bar. If I throw a shuriken, the moth's dmg is doubled. Nothing I have on should do that. The slow debuff shouldn't be buffing my nades at all. When I use ascension, amplify shouldn't buff S&S... but it does, or something is... I have no way to get frost armor with my setup. Listen, the default ornament sucks unless you like big purple moths on your shoulders, but every Hunter main should build a Mothkeeper's kit.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 3/30/2025 5:49:33 PMThey rarely hit a target that is moving at all and the geometry when it should hit a target on a bank shot is wonky at best. Which is why I say a consistency buff. The tracking when chaining though is perfectly fine I agree. Infact I know if I throw a shuriken at a clone it will hit the hunter, but if I throw a shuriken at a hunter its likely to miss. I edited the main body to reflect this: "Increased velocity and increased tracking after bouncing" As I too remember when they were slower and had weird tracking that would bend the shuriken toward walls instead of where I am throwing them. Edit: It also may be a input difference. As on k&m atleast if the target lazily moves to the left or right they rarely hit.

It whiffs all the time.
