It was to stop Xivu from pulling us into the ascendant plane and to prevent Oryx's release. Not resurrection, Oryx is already in prison. When a taken 'dies'... they don't. They get banished to pocket spaces in the Sea of Screams. Oryx was the Taken King.
Then why is Oryx's corpse on Titan? At least have some consistency with this theory because Taken have themselves and their bodies banished to the ascendant plane. Oryx "died" in Regicide and did the same thing taken do when they die is get banished to the ascendant plane since he had a throne world he was tied to that and when he died there... he died for good.
But we didn't. We didn't bind Oryx, we captured the Subjugator carrying the Echo. Edit: In review it is unclear whether we captured the Subjugator or if it escaped.
We literally did that in the mission we bound the echo that is the memory of Oryx from the Witness to Eris' throne world and the Subjugator was trying to prevent us from doing this but teleported away after we succeeded.
Maybe the Dread aren't the only ones. Or Maybe... Eris never was on our side.
"Eris is actually le evil this whole time!" That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard.
The Gardener needs an army... Generals... like Quria, Raven, & Oryx who are all imprisoned in the Sea of Screams.
Huh?

"Then why is Oryx's corpse on Titan"? Oh, for shame you got me. You mean the relics we spent an entire season using to invocate the Darkness whilst Xivu laughed at us? That corpse. Why does his body need to go? Nezerac doesn't need his old body parts to reconstitute either, just needs someone to interact with his relics, touch them... drink them? "At least have some consistency with this theory because Taken have themselves and their bodies banished to the ascendant plane". I have been consistent. In most cases, actually... the bodies of those taken are fully consumed AS they are taken. Oryx is a little different. That's why Savathun talks about it. "We literally did that in the mission we bound the echo that is the memory of Oryx from the Witness to Eris' throne world and the Subjugator was trying to prevent us from doing this but teleported away after we succeeded". That's the same subjugator from ACT 1 who was carrying the Echo. Eris used her ritual to summon the Echo? What? When we reach the court... it's already there floating. Then a fight with? Pause the fight... or look up a vid. The name of that Subjugator? Then an easy fight where the Subjugator doesn't even engage with us. We shoot the eyes of what? to complete the binding of the echo. We bound the echo, not Oryx... Oryx did not have the echo or control the Subjugator carrying it. Which apparently the Subjugator never absorbed... claimed; it was a courier. Literally what we witnessed. We showed up and the Echo was already there. It's like when Mara did the ritual alone and Savathun escaped? Why weren't we there? In Kind, how did the Echo just appear? Why weren't we there or involved in that? ""Eris is actually le evil this whole time!" That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard". I never said that. 😇👍💠
Oh, for shame you got me. You mean the relics we spent an entire season using to invocate the Darkness whilst Xivu laughed at us?
What relics? The ones in Plunder were parts of Nezarec the game states that.
That's the same subjugator from ACT 1 who was carrying the Echo.
He very clearly isn't carrying it.
Nezerac doesn't need his old body parts to reconstitute either, just needs someone to interact with his relics, touch them... drink them?
This doesn't apply to oryx. Also, this isn't made clear by the game but I think the curse is more of an imprint than a reconstitution or direct possession.
We bound the echo, not Oryx... Oryx did not have the echo or control the Subjugator carrying it. Which apparently the Subjugator never absorbed... claimed; it was a courier.
Oryx is the echo lmao. Its a version of Oryx's personality created by the Witness' memories of him and that is the echo. So it is "oryx" in this context.
In Kind, how did the Echo just appear?
Either Eris summoned it or it just appeared there like it did before in Act 1. The echos do have a will of their own and this one is favourable to us so isn't surprising if it just shows up around where we are at.
""Eris is actually le evil this whole time!" That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard". I never said that.

Or Maybe... Eris never was on our side.
• Adding a bit more. In week 2 we we go to the moon and we find an ogre that was just taken which Eris notes that only someone like the taken king should be capable of doing. Then when we kinda enter a taken dimension with the ogre in it Eris panics when she senses someone else indicating we were being watched by whoever currently was in control of the ogre. This just adds more against Eris being the new leader. Also she clearly ain't a friend of the subjugator I mean it clearly tried to stop us personally coming to attack us and even a large army joins in to help it. If Eris was the new leader why would she summon hundreds of taken including one of the strongest Dread to ever exist (Possibly being only below Rhulk and Nezarec) to stop HER plan?

Sea of screams is the sound of energy... And essentially consciousness' interacting with the energy of the universe... It is a deafening sound... It is also a quiet sound... ... ... The prison is a loop design... Essentially thinking you're the king... And you were just a pawn... And just part of an explanation... A cool one though...
