Issues with comp pvp
comp pvp has been really poor the last few weeks. I just had two matches back to back where at least one of the players exhibited really bad rubber banding and was basically invincible. Is comp considering connection quality at all during match making?
Also there have been a lot of mid match quitting. When this happens on my team I still lose comp point. I thought Bungie just "improved" quit protection?
Last, seems like the payer population is really low. It's taking a long time to even get a match.
Bungie, what's going on with these topics?

The biggest problem with comp is EVERYBODY seems to think it's a suicide mission, then runs off to get shot-up! Just assume the other dude's faster than you, with a better aim-bot setup, and folks will be better.

It doesn't help that I play the same pool of 15 players every time i loaded into a game. I have played with/against the same people 10 times for like 10 different people.

1 ReplyOh damn. Usually Competitive is the best mode for finding relatively even matches, quite consistently; at least in my experiences. I haven't engaged it for a few weeks though.

Had a 100-14 “competitive” match earlier this week. Playing against people who are 1900 with crap weapons never missing a head shot. I’ve played all three characters for three matches every week thus far. But after my experience Tuesday night. Nope

The issue with comp in PvP is that PvP isn’t competitive. Having a “competitive” playlist that uses sbmm instead of actual rank and relies on p2p connection is laughable in 2025. Add in the degenerate loadouts/play styles that are utilized when players really want to win and you have the D2 comp experience.

1 ReplyBro its a mess. For me the past two weeks have been an absolute nightmare. I got sweats screaming at me to win my 1v1's and I'm like, "I literally can't!" Shooting dude in the face about to take him down and 2 bullets before I get the kill dude does the cupid shuffle back and forth, dissapears for a second and then is to my right and kills me. My favorite is a snipe headshot and I don't get confirmation of the kill till like 2 seconds later and I go back to finish him off and he is dead and his teammates shove their Redrix's down my throat. It's wild

So all in all it is by far the worst playlist existing in this game by now

Comp is at this point either filled with people lagging net limiting cheating. It’s not like anything is gonna happen, instead they are throwing duos into matching trios, and your solo is a bot player who can’t win a single fight

The competitive playlist is easily one of the current worst multiplayer experiences in all of gaming.

Competitive does have connections consideration. But depending on the time of day, or the rank you might be in. It will have issue with finding ppl this will in deed result match quality. Not only that bungie has stated that searching for a match can take up to 8 min that’s there base line time. So yeah it can take long. And while ranked is the pervert match make parameter don’t forget destiny competitive does also have sbmm in place and skill delta can not be that wide. Al this just stacked on top of a unbalance game and the current competitive playlist is what you get. Don’t forget the comp playlist is pure there for ppl who ask for it destiny is not ment to be a competitive game.
