Barrel stuffing with a shotgun is incredibly easy to do and incredibly free. Shogun melees can be pulled off incredibly fast. Imo shotguns require the least amount of thought to use in pvp

Maybe in the lower levels but when you start playing better teams, overextending with a shotgun like that is stupid.

There RNG on whether they die so you have to follow up with a melee. Also, it's possible to be too close with a shotgun and not be lethal. There's a sweet spot. The barrel can go right through the opposition. Fusions are hitscan. Their charge sound isn't always synced with what's happening in the game. They are incredibly easy with reticles the size of a barn door. People use them as their primary. Not as a special situation weapon.

Firstly, there is no range where you’re too close to kill with a shotgun. I would also argue that people use shotguns as primaries as well. Secondly, people complain about a pulse and smg meta, so the only meta that seems acceptable by the community is a shotgun handcannon meta because every other meta gets hounded for “giving out free kills”.

There are instances where my barrel is buried in one's stomach and you can shoot right through the torso of a Guardian if you two are too close. I don't have video handy, so I won't argue about it. You don't have to believe that. You cannot use a shotgun as a primary to the same effect as a fusion. Shotguns do not have even close to the same range and often leave people alive. Your sentiment might have been true 2 reworks and 3 nerfs ago as it pertains to pellet shotguns. I've seen people go entire games with just a rapid fire fusion. Happens all the time. They shouldn't be immune to the same treatment. Yeah. Pulse rifles are free when they occupy the most usage and get the most kills at Great range. Shorter ttk than a precision 3 tap. Larger mags. More forgiveness for missed shots. Subs are free when paired with PK knockout diamond lance. Or the Arc subclass for 13 months. When you don't have to aim to kill quicker or you can crouch spam an auto weapon that kills faster. Slide behemoth prefiring with PKs yeah it's free cheese.
