I'm a pve Warlock main. This is my 2nd Guardian Games since I started playing Destiny. I've done the Rushdown warmup a few times. I really enjoy being able to go up against bosses I've never had a chance to play before. I got to play against Gaul (at least I think it was him from Shadowkeep.) I looked at the plain Rushdown and decided I wasn't interested. There are too many negative modifiers for my preferences at this time. I do want to do more Rushdown warmup (hopefully tomorrow). I'm hoping to get a few more challenges to be able to get the Reveler seal. Over these last 2 Guardian Games, my overall impression is that it's targeted towards the higher skilled players. Solstice, Festival of the Lost, and Dawning could be completed and feel successful to the average player without having to step into higher difficulty content. It just took some grinding and determination. Games feels like my little bronze medallions don't make much of a difference when you see others depositing silver, gold, or platinum's. See you around fellow Warlocks!

I can relate to your frustration with the rising difficulty of certain activities. This game has evolved into a highly competitive game that rewards highly skilled players. I used to complain because I couldn't keep up. But I pulled through with the help of some good friends, a great clan and leader, and years of practice. Not everyone has that kind of time, patience, dedication, or even a good clan. So I'll give you some fresh tips that will drastically improve your experience. Getaway Artist on Prismatic. High stat armor. Heal Clip Weapons, Devour, Working on guardian Ranks, Soloing anything you can, and the search for skilled and helpful friends.

  • Thanks for your suggestions! I appreciate it very much. I started just before Lightfall dropped and there's been a lot of changes to figure out. I had been running a solar based prismatic last episode. I really like that new super. Devour has been very stong. I have currently switched back to a threadling build because they make me laugh and there's some help from the artifact. I typically do run solo but haven't been quite brave enough for some of the harder content. It's a me-problem I know. I'll get there, probably soon. I've found a few people to help. They've been very patient with my (poor but improving) jumping puzzles.

I think that is very fair feedback that GG may be the most challenging of any of the events. (the difficulty in the 1st haunted sectors was also over-tuned) I too am enjoying seeing encounters I haven't before but I have to say I don't even read those modifiers - you may be surprised that regular Rushdown is not bad (sometimes not so much a step up from warmup even).. and is really the only prep for Expert which also becomes doable with some effort. Heir Apparent, if you have that? > It's shield is extremely helpful and helps you revive teamates. I also use the KT + AO CCX and actually a Keraunios (the GG trace) with triple tap & jolting feedback because of the artifact synergies. I sometimes switch the CCX for Randy's with KT + UO in the 5th boss level. Anyway Bronze medals help too :) hope you get rolls you are looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion of Heir Apparent. I do have it and have completed the catalyst too. I used it almost exclusively last season with my prismatic solar and strand warlock build. It's a definite favourite of mine. I'm currently running a full strand threadling build ('cause threadlings make me laugh when a bunch start zooming around ) to take advantage of the strand perks in the artifact. Can Heir fit in somehow? I don't think there's anything in the artifact to pair it up with, but I'm still figuring out a lot of how to build a loadout really well. I don't know what most of the other weapons are you mentioned. I do have the new trace from Games. They're just getting dumped in my vault for now. I'd need to check to see what I actually have for rolls. I've been having a lot of fun with Lodestar. Edit: I noped out of the regular Rushdown when all I saw was a giant wall of red modifiers and no green ones to buff me or my teammates. I'll give it a go after a few more "practice runs" in Warmup.

Its like a get out of jail card with the shield, bullet spray and healing. I run Vesper of Radius on Arc Warlock w/arc souls and can get very close to enemies because of it and Spark of Resistance.
I don't know what most of the other weapons are you mentioned. I do have the new trace from Games. They're just getting dumped in my vault for now. The others I was talking about was the Multimach [CCX] with Kinetic Tremors [KT] and Attrition Orbs[AO] (actually can pick up from Banshee for free) and Randy's Throwing Knife a scout from Shax [KT] + Under-Over [UO]... but I bet some other scouts will work too. This is just to give some range to stay in cover while you hit enemies from afar as the difficulty scales up as you go. And btw the Jolting Feedback on a trace will trigger the artifact "Harsh Refraction" making it boss DPS (I think I heard can be 50% maybe more) + ad clear at the same time from the jolt and healing as well from artifact "Beam Medic". EDIT > I can't believe I forgot "Heavy Ordinance Regeneration" in the artifact as well for any machine gun grants not only damage resistence but melee and grenade regen
