I just unlinked my old Epic Games account and I had to deactivate Cross Save to do so as I have not turned it off in a long time. The article I was reading mentioned nothing about the 12/24/24 deadline and I am only now seeing it here as I type this. I completly forgot about the 90 day lockout when I went through with the changes. My account information is tied to my Xbox which I do not have anymore so I am completly barred from playing Destiny at all. Is there any possibility that the 90 day lockout can be removed as a one time thing?

The article for 3/25/25 doesn’t mention any other deadlines at all because that article is not specific to Destiny 2’s Cross Saves 90 day lockout. That article exclusively deals with Account Unlinking if no cross save is enabled at all. It does mention that players may not even meet requirements to unlink if Cross Save is enabled. Ultimately — if you’ve now turned off Cross Save today, that’s means after 6/12/25, would be able to turn it back on and choose a character set that’s linked with your account. Any platform accounts that you have available/open slots can also link a platform account to choose from. So either your old Epic Games account or a new one. There isn’t a way to bypass the cooldown for Disabling Cross Save as mentioned during the process.

I know you’re only the messenger so there’s only so much you can do, but I think that there will be a lot of players like me who will see today’s announcement and react how I have and not see this thread until it is too late and realize that they missed the 12/24/24 deadline to unlink but did so anyways. Why it was announced only two weeks until when at this point it only applies to a portion of the player population, I do not know, but if more people do this, not many will be happy. I’m relatively fine with this as I have some potential alternatives that I can work around since Xbox accounts (where my save is from) have access to the Microsoft store version on PC and I see the “no exceptions” rule to the lockout on one of the articles, but I was wondering if you could at least try communicating with Bungie about making this time an exception given the circumstances so nobody else follows my mistake or at the very least blast this out to socials and as an in-game message so it doesn’t repeat Is that possible?
