I don't understand how someone can mismanage a $3 billion investment and keep their job.
Because there wasnt a 3 billion dollar investment. 3 billion was the purchase of the company, not an investment into the company.
But to your actual question, Sony would be the ones who ultimately hold Bungie responsible. But also, take the article with a grain of salt as it comes from a disgruntled ex employee with no substantial proof that management wanted it to fail.

I understand not taking her word for it, but there are so many other confirmed reports of how poorly Bungie is managed. It does make sense for it to fail, giving them a reason to cut staff. On the flipside, it doesn't make sense because you risk losing further control of the company, which we saw happened. They could've shifted revenue and staff internally to work on Marathon and held Sony at bay. I still think the CEO needs to be held accountable. Shame on Sony for not getting more involved sooner.

I think it was HORRIBLY mismanaged, but I think far cry from actively throwing for the sake of throwing. I think the whole C suite needs to be held accountable. Destiny is/was a great franchise and it has been pissed away for the sake of chasing rainbows.
