Weightgate feels real still and loot sucks

I focused 28 multimachs trying to get a god roll. I did not get a SINGLE one with target lock out of 28 much less the actual roll i wanted. Not to mention the absurd glimmer price of focusing loot, this game isn't rewarding enough to put time into anymore. While i'm posting I might as well air out complaints about the loot system in general. Dungeon and raid encounters should drop a piece of armor and a weapon. It is stupid to play the game and get rewarded with your third piece of armor that drops at 52 stat level. Honestly it's insulting. My friend has 20+ clears of vespers host and has gotten 2 drops for the auto rifle. It is ridiculous. Bungie if you want community trust back maybe you should make your game rewarding and worth playing. [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate.   • Definitely feels like it on some guns. Considering weightgate apparently existed as early as random rolls were introduced in this game, I'd be more surprised if it didn't actually come back and no one is noticing with what are presumably new weapons since the fix. I don't expect my 5/5 god roll on any weapon, but when on Cold Denial for example, the combinations I see most are Steady Hand and Swashbuckler Enlightened Action and Gutshot Ambitious Assassin and EOTS Zen Moment and Multikill clip Tunnel Vision and Headseeker Out of 49 possible trait combinations, these 5 seem to appear most. And at least as far as I'm concerned, if all perks aren't weighted equally, the weightgate hasn't been fixed. With all that said, if they're going to make us wait several episodes if not until the next expansion to let us craft the gear from that year, they need to let us craft ALL the reprised and seasonal weapons. No matter how you look at it, it's bad design how we have to grind materials to make a separate grind easier and both will be taken out next expansion, making said gear harder to get AND timegated. And that's assuming they don't throw any of that into the random loot pools because I'm sure as hell NOT going to grind that unless they triple my chances of something good like they should be doing with all the gear that requires multiple engrams to focus after being rotated out of the "current" pools.

      • Yeah, my guess is that once they realised perks were being weighted accidentally, they decided to start weighting them deliberately, making useless perks more common and good ones more rare, and 2 good ones combo'd together even rarer. I've noticed the perk weighting even more since they "fixed" it, even on guns I don't care about at all, so it's not just a case of me noticing it more because I'm paying more attention, it's just suspicious how often I get the exact same combo of perks on certain weapons (always useless perks).

        • Yeah this topic is like the single biggest middle finger Bungie has ever done. Neither has this "perk weighting" been fixed, nor has this been a bug. I have literally 0 trust that this was a mistake. This company is full of sht.

          • Yep. I've gone through at least 50 bittersweet tonics since early last season and STILL haven't got an envious arsenal/bait and switch roll yet. I pop about 3 per session and I've been playing almost every day, though I took a couple weeks off to play division 2 because Bungie has almost completely destroyed this game. Bring back seasonal crafting already. Everything bungie's done since revenant has destroyed the population to record low levels, crafting most of all, so it's clearly not working. The new game director is toxic and bad for the game. Echoes content was already made before he took over so it couldn't be changed and it was awesome compared to the trash we've gotten in revenant/heresy. It's villain/setting was interesting, it's weapons were epic and worth farming for, it's actually story was disappointing though, but overall it was a great season. Since the new guy took over though he: -removed crafting for no good reason other than to make us endlessly farm seasonal activities -brought back the pinnacle grind even though every player hated it, just to artificially extend play time -gave us meh seasonal weapons minus maybe 2-3 -shamelessly recycled content, onslaught/prison/dreadnaught, it's like they didn't even try -boring story/villain/setting (more revenant, heresy is just starting so we'll see) No wonder everybody left. Everything they've done since revenant has been in an effort to artificially extend playtime because they're giving us bare bones, recycled content and they know it. I mean, onslaught on a different map, really!? This director needs to be fired immediately, they need to hire more people again, especially in QA, and give up on every little project and just focus on destiny and marathon. Bring back seasonal crafting and remove the seasonal pinnacle grind altogether, it accomplished nothing and everybody hates it. Everybody cheered en-masse when it was removed, possibly the best design decision of the light fall era, and what does this new guy do the second he takes over? Brings it back for no good reason other than to artificially inflate gameplay hours which backfired, terribly. It's no coincidence there was a mass exodus of players during revenant, every decision this new director has made has alienated players and actually destroyed what's left of our desire to keep playing. He needs to go and those decisions, crafting most of all, need to be walked back.

          • Focusing is just a trap The only system that truly was rewarding was crafting Rest of this stuff is just gimmicks to run you out of the zillion currencies There’s a reason as soon as the C team took over to strip mine the players that crafting was immediately dumped

            • 100% still a thing. Focused 8-10 loaded questions earlier and all but 1 had the exact same perk combos, only variance was the master work.

            • Bro it's definitely still a thing. I spent 500k glimmer focusing Peacebond and not a single one had kill clip or desperate measures. I got moving target and subsistence a million times though

            • I have yet to get a single detonator beam trace from the dungeon nor a hatchling tear handcannon and I've ran that dungeon so many times it's ridiculous.

            • I’m having this issue trying to farm adapt Nether weapons. Can’t get certain roll combos to drop and continue to get the same rolls .

              • i will talk very truthfully about this because i’ve had such frustration of luck even with all the triumph buffs (did master) (not doing solo, i don’t play souls games) this exotic drop rate buff feels like a completely fraudulent placebo, a fake buff that actually doesn’t even show even after doing so many runs of WR and GOtD this exotic drop rate buff feels like it actually nerfed my chances of actually getting the exotic i can’t even begin to vent how many runs it’s not the loot, it’s the games RNG that is clearly weight gating in every. single. activity. and i really don’t think bungie actually cares at all (in a hypothetical memory as well from season of opulence, there was a twab of some sort that talked about the change of RNG. though i don’t know if this actually has still been the same effect ever since, but i also think they turned their perfect coding into spaghetti coding, and it really has some gears in my brain turning that The RNG in game has changed so much that even newly released content like the dungeon comes to show that this exotic RNG could be a bug in other dungeons and no one else has even talked about it) (i could be delusional but this feels surreal from other RNG)

              • After farming for Adept versions of Fatebringer, Pali, and Exhalted Truth over the last few weeks, I’d be inclined to agree. I used 20 NF ciphers for Pali yesterday and both rolls I got had the exact same three perks in the third/fourth columns lol. Pretty bad.

                Think you're right I've just done 4 grandmaster nightfalls and I got 4 palindromes in a row with recycled energy and rolling storm. The odds of that happening legitimately without some bug at play are massive. I just want some different rolls Bungie!

                • What roll are you looking for? Easiest way to tell if weight gate is still thing, is to understand what it is and search the weapon api to crossreference the data. Weight gate for example, had nothing to do with individual perk weighting. Something that, unfortunately, many people won't know because they don't read the relevant articles about the issue.

                • Whether it's still a thing or not, I make do with the rolls I get. The so-called "god rolls" don't elevate my game to some mythic level so I don't stroke out over not getting one.

                • They’ve always weighed perks, inflate the grind time. The issue was the dungeon had additional drop modifiers and they likely compounded in a way that was clearly noticeable. Not the first time they’ve been caught throttling and denying it until it was proven. And given how this was caught with such a basic tool, clearly shows they are knowingly and intentionally short changing us. Stop giving them money and watch things change.
