I really wish there was a way to make people...
1) Describe the cheats they saw.
2) RECORD WHAT HAPPENED AND REPORT THEM
3) List what system they were using
These vague complaints about cheating are so old, and I bet half of them are players who don't know wtf they're talking about. (Not necessarily talking about you, OP)

Bro, you’re challenged, right? If f you describe or even mention the hard/software you get a ban. I hope you heard of YouTube because there are COUNTLESS example for the cheats that are used. Your comment is unreal. Borderline sounds like a “destiny shill” comment.

That’s not the point. Do your research or don’t. This is a well established phenomenon.
-
What is your point? That cheating exists? My point is that MOST of the players who claim cheating are, when pressed, mistaken, and it would save a lot of time and energy if they included relevant information up front. Also, these people often haven't taken the most aggressive actions against the cheaters that they could have taken. If they don't include the relvant info, the only way to have a useful conversation is to begin with questions. And if they don't file a report with Bungie, then even more time is wasted explaining why they should On top of it, getting it wrong discredits the people who have actually run into cheaters. Most of the cheating posts are pointless

I am not exaggerating when I say that literally every competitive community in gaming has this exact problem. Like, you get too deep into smash bros community posts online and you hear people complaining about smurfing and lag switching, when it's realistically probably just people with terrible wifi or someone genuinely better at the game than they are. I believe the proper name for this is the personalization fallacy, where it's really easy for people to attribute someone as being responsible for something completely out of their control (usually assuming a malicious actor where there is none).
-
Exactly
-
One problem is everyone says they encounter so many cheaters. Tbh I’m not sure if I’ve ever encountered one. Maybe I should stat check more but I haven’t really seen something crazy crazy
-
Stat checking is a very quick way to find bogeymen where there are none. Nobody is ever as good at detecting cheaters as they think they are, and it's way too easy to get paranoid doing that.

Edited by iCypher: 1/12/2025 6:24:35 PMI believe you can do this. There is a form you can fill out on Bungie.net somewhere where you can report cheaters. But I think you need a lot of detail and to be sure sure that they are cheating. I am sure a Mod or Ninja can give the link. Update: Here is the link: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049497451-Report-Suspected-Cheating-and-Poor-Behavior Be aware not to go crazy and have good details when using. Please read the rules before reporting so it is not abused.

I've sent them videos of undeniable cheating with an essay explaining the video and not only can I see they did not access the links but the cheaters are still active. They do not hear you.

I know! I've reported players that way before, and it works loads better than the normal in-game reporting. I was complaining that players who talk about cheating on the Forums don't give any details on the cheats or what they did to report the offenders. It makes the posts kind of pointless

I do agree, sometimes it's so vague I don't know how to proceed with a genuine discussion
