Hi there,
Please try unblocking the player before removing them from your friends list. Also, ensure that the player is not on your platform friend list outside the game.
You'll want to remove them from your platform friend list first, ensure they're unblocked, and then remove them from the in-game friend list.

I've tried that too. They are not on any friend list on any other platform. I've unblocked and unadded them and they just keep reappearing.
