I never used them either.

In their pre-nerfed form they were like mini nukes. One little warmind cell and you would blow up an entire room, leaving nothing but dust and bones behind. You could also change the cell into a Scorching cell, setting everyone on fire when you blew it up. The cheer power these little things brought made for a really good time. The power fantasy that we all wanted in this game.

Unfortunately, we see the same problem with Tangles that plagued Warmind Cells, which is that your team wants to blast the hell out of them no matter what you're trying to do. So if you were using Void cells for debuffs, you never got to do that because your teammates would "help" by shooting the cells constantly. Even if you were using Solar cells for mini-nukes, if you weren't the one blowing them up their damage would be a lot lower. Being locked into using Seraph weapons most of the time wasn't great, either.

It really reinforced teamplay which I liked. I would run suppression cells and my buddy would run explosion cells. So I could pick up and stick cells to an enemy and shoot them a bunch to proc suppression then he would blast the hell out of it to set off the mini-nuke.
