People are scared to push and would rather lean on a ranged meta because they are bad. Sbmm protects them from needing to improve by providing a safety net against the "sweats." 6's are not in a good spot right now. Competitive gamemodes are even worse thanks to prism titan.

The game does not teach them how to play. Prism Titan is heavily overtuned as a result of trying to combat pre-nerfed Hunters ability combination on Pris and its increase to Hunter population.

 • They mentioned sbmm but there isn't really sbmm in the game anymore. Outlier basically requires you to be bottom 10% which is like losing 5+ matches in a row with a bad kill to death ratio (Bungie mentioned it also takes into account other things but I'm not getting into that stuff) or to be a new player. Only being one of those 2 will grant you sbmm so these people are being thrown into completely random matches most likely against top players (Since it's mostly top players playing at this point) and basically can't fight back.

Id like to know their criteria.

 • I don't sadly though I do remember they said it's called "Combat rating" if that helps in finding it.
This is a really good point. The game does a really horrible job at teaching them how to play in all aspects really, not just pvp. The problem is that bungie does not know what they want their pvp to be. Should it be fun, party-style space magic? Should it be esport-level competitive with fantastic gunplay and movement like no other? They could go either direction, perhaps even both, if they would just start separating the sandbox. I know they've told us it's too hard to balance multiple sandboxes at once, but that really would be the way I'd take pvp to the level it could be. Otherwise, we will just keep cycling through whichever weapon they choose to make everyone use. For bad players, it's so that they can avoid having their feeling hurt. For good players, it's so that we have any chance of winning at all. At least in a cqc meta, lots of weapons remain usable, and people actually move around the map. This game has unlimited potential that I fear they will never come close to recognizing.
Prism Titan is heavily overtuned as a result of trying to combat pre-nerfed Hunters ability combination of Pris and it's increase to Hunter population.
Maybe we shouldn't start talking about pris. I know that isn't the topic of this post, and it's really hard not to go off the rails about it. Just... who? Who tf at bungie thought prismatic could be released the way it was without completely breaking the sandbox? I know they like to overtune everything a bit at release, but this is beyond that. Wombo combo existed before, so they give it a better version on prism hunter?! Then they give titans a great movement ability with like 80% uptime, a free double kill for any melee/grenade kill thanks to diamond lance, and pre-nerf wormhusk on their exotic class item? It's like they want to force everyone to play titan.
