This exacerbates and further amplifies the apparency of persistent problems with certain game modes and maps. How people choose to play them.
The whole game can't be about making it so some people (at the extremes of the skill band) can do whatever they want to do and then have people also be saying this. This game doesn't work when people just pretend and that's all they're good at doing.

This game doesn't work when people just pretend and that's all they're good at doing.
Everything serves a purpose. A role. With existing overlap. There's a place and time where your build should provide the greatest strengths. So too should all play styles have weaknesses. Nothing can be the best of everything. And if any one thing is too prevalent it can shape the environment. It's not just the environment shaping the organism here. The individual Guardian and their choice can change the experience for everything else. By making any one thing too strong while it's also extremely easy to use doesn't help the weaker ones. The ones at the "extremes of the skill band" will either exploit it like no other can or won't be helped no matter how free a thing is made. The ceiling and floor are too close on some of these things. But the lack of honest conversation from from people that comprehend Crucible at its highest levels is always derailing the effort to improve the game.

 • Its just not a good enough effort sometimes. Its the status quo too often and then its supposed to be someone else's fault all round aboutly when the status quo starts to show.
