Yes, that's correct and intentional.
Strand is tied to owning Lightfall, during F2P events you are considered as 'owning Lightfall' for the duration.
Once the event events, you retain access to items you have acquired and can use them - but the Strand subclass, quests, and activities are no longer accessible.

Yeah but when they gave us beyond light for free during the summer, we could still use stasis after they took it away

Edited by EckyThump: 10/17/2024 2:04:07 AMStrand and Prismatic require Lightfall and Final Shape ownership on the account you wish to use the subclasses on, regardless of what they've done with Stasis (they have made Beyond Light's campaign completely free, for example).
