I wonder why we never went further into the Dr. Shim response.
Did it actually detect doctor shim?
I'm going to end up going back over their first steps into the network. I want to find out what all the researchers did within the network and out of it.
...wait...

Return home...there is some sort of meaning there. All of it, it's one cool puzzle.
Hmm? When did the machine make copies?
The FWC uses it and all they’ve done is see other timelines to predict what can happen here.
Where does it say it makes copies?
I think it's mainly the indistinguishable aspect. I haven't played much and am forgetting more.
I think they (Osiris and Maya, et al) gave themselves over to this engine, saying it is reality, and figured out ways to circumvent...a firewall protecting worldline zero.
I think Aksis had the quote right
We are they who created themselves out of themselves and died in the creation. No longer merely the god in the machine, but the machine in the god. ~consume enhance replicate~ Here we rise, made equal at last to that which we worship. ~consume enhance replicate~
Though it deals with siva, I'm going to guess it's part of the design.
Maybe siva was the initial design for the ageless vex.
Also, remember the frozen one without decay. Kinda like Maya (maybe), maybe that frozen body was someone like Osiris. Maya change her name, maybe Osiris did too. ~"They have evidence that your a golden age experiment brought back by a malfunctioning ghost" pretty sure that quote isn't completely right, dead orbit about Osiris.
So maybe they just found a way from the network to prime reality like the vex do...
Bungie’s said that the storyline can be followed solely by what’s in the game.
Lore books and tabs add depth and offer future clues but they are not hiding some hidden story that has yet to materialize.
That’s why the fanciful ideas never pan out
I can get behind that.
I say my perspective here has been trying to understand what I see in game and the beauty of their designs, along with some lore nuggets.
The festering core is one of my favorites, a weird test for vex to "see" light, though it doesn't outright say it. Pretty sure nothing spoken in the strike even mentions it, and without a HUD it would make less sense...so yeah, the guardian only knows so much, and it's not a lot.
Now, I guess, what does our guardian really know about the universe? The beginnings of Destiny 2 had at least 3 variations of comms in most adventures and strikes, which lines would match up to what the guardian would know?
