Bungie suffers from Survivor’s Bias when it comes to class numbers. They see Hunters have the highest player count and think this means their style is more popular while failing to realize their high pick-rate is often due to their overtuned/overpowered abilities and exotics.
Bungie proceeds to design new content that tends to favor Hunters because of this misinterpretation. This has been most obvious with this expansion, with the clearest examples being Titan Prismatic and the final encounter of Salvations Edge.

Dont make stuff up just because its the internet. Bungie makes content thats the same for all classes, theres no bias. More people play Hunter because more people have always played Hunter, most D1 players stuck to their mains and most of those players chose Hunter for the aesthetic. Hunters are in no way better than other classes, people just find out whats best on them sooner due to the higher population.

I’m happy to see you made it to my post while making your rounds! Survivorship Bias is a real thing, and I feel is a working explanation for why content is distributed the way it is. The classes are not at all equal. They never have been, they never will be. If they were, they wouldn’t be divided into groups with defining characteristics for each.👍

People also coincidentally tend to use the same exact weapons in pvp just because... /s
