I agree with everything but the Matchmaking for Raids/Dungeons.
Part of the reason Raids don't have matchmaking is due to the mechanics. The coordination needed even for normal raids makes difficult for Random Matchmaking to work. Prime Example is the Corrupted strike With the ball mechanic. Most people still don't know or do it even after 5 years.
And if you have to dumb down the mechanics for Matchmaking to work, then it will ruin what makes a raid unique. It's part of the charm of Raids. If people were more willing to learn and others would be more willing to teach, then more people would do raids.

It's optional and not required. The thing that will set raids apart is the structure of how we get the loot and how it's a weekly lockout and how long it takes.
The thing about the corrupted strike is that the strike is still able to be completed regardless of the ball being thrown or not. It's optional and not required.
It's optional because it's a strike. My point is even though it makes the strike faster, people still don't do it.
The thing that will set raids apart is the structure of how we get the loot and how it's a weekly lockout and how long it takes.
We already have that as is. What makes a raid unique is the mechanics and coordination. They are needed for the most part to complete the encounters. Most mechanics in Raids are not that hard to understand or do. Outside of Salvation's Edge, almost all raids are easy to do once you learn the mechanics to do them.

Edited by Sen: 9/28/2024 9:11:38 PMI see. It's just that a lot of people seem to struggle regardless with not knowing WHERE people are. I feel like all of this could also be fixed if people were aware of discord lfgs, Sherpas etc rather than villainizing those who play the game like it was designed. Saying hardcore players are addicts. I don't understand people complaining about playing with others. Playing with other people is a core part of Destiny and to deny that AND complain at the same time is just dumb to me. However I still feel like the changes to how rewards work are a good idea. What do you think? I would like to pick your brain on my other ideas.

I get that for people not knowing where to go. Fireteam finder was a good start but needs to be implemented better like allowing better descriptions and better incentives for teaching players a raid. An emblem is not enough and is giving bad actors a reason to be an -blam!- to newbies. I love your idea for rewards. Provides a better avenue to get what you want without crafting. One thing I think would get people going better is exclusive Raid Perks that mean something. I think back to D1 Vog and Crota and how they had extra perks that benefitted you in the raid. We started it up in DSC but those perks eventually got put on other weapons. Weapons need to mean something and honestly, there hasn't been many stand out weapons for many of the raids for awhile.

On top of that I just think it's too late for Fireteam finder. It's not like the people who are already using discord to find Sherpas and people who want to raids are going to just use Fireteam finder out of nowhere unless it's SUPER good and has an incentive over discord. So I feel like this is a "too little too late" situation. I forgot all about perks actually helping people out in the raid. I remember grinding out armor for Garden of Salvation that allowed us to do additional damage when we sat next to a conflux thing. And of course, as you said, D1 having perks on weapons that would help you while in the raid. It's ideas like this that would make the grind even more enjoyable but, for some reason, they don't make it like that anymore. It's odd.
