I started to watch The Owl House, but I stopped watching it for reasons I won’t get into here. It was really cool from what I watched though. I probably watched like, the first 8 episodes maybe? Hold on, lemme check.
(This checking consisted of loading into Disney+ and looking at the page for The Owl House.)
My bad, I watched through Episode 12. Probably a generic opinion, but King was my favorite character. He is adorable (don’t tell him I said that, though) and really funny. He is also voiced by Alex Hirsch, which just makes it even better cuz I frickin’ love Alex Hirsch and his work.
Anyway, I have no idea where I was going with this comment. Belos seems like a poopyhead. I don’t know who I can compare him to. The only person who comes to mind is Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5 (and New Dawn, and technically 6, but I haven’t played the DLC for 6), although, he was less pure evil and more leaning towards insane.
Anyway, this was a fun read and very informational. Thank you for writing, Aifos.

You should really finish it. Especially if King was your favorite character--his story arc is really really good. I mean, the whole thing is really really good, but King's story is one of the best parts. The Owl House is my favorite TV show, it's genuinely so amazing. Whatever your reason for not finishing it was, I can pretty much guarantee that the payoff of the story is worth enduring whatever it was that put you off. And while my post did, unfortunately, spoil a major plot point, it also left a lot of stuff still in the dark, so there's still plenty of twists and turns for you to learn! While I would probably say my favorite character is Amity, this is one of those shows where pretty much everyone is on the same level because I love all of them. Personally, I've never seen a villain I even can compare Belos to, because he's just that rotten. Even the worst villains simply don't come anywhere close to being as awful as he is. He is definitely a big poopyhead.

I might watch it at some point in the future. I have a decent few shows I want to watch, as well as games I want to play, some books I want to read, got a bunch of stuff, so we’ll see.
That makes it sound like I’m really busy but I am not at all busy, just extremely indecisive.
My problem is I just have a ton of stuff I wanna do at once. I wanna play Halo: MCC and finally finish ODST and then finish Halo 4 on MCC (I’ve finished it on the standalone 360 disk but not MCC). I wanna play Far Cry New Dawn because it’s awesome. I wanna play Fortnite because FOMO. I wanna play Destiny (although not as much as I used to) because FOMO. I wanna play Aragami because it’s awesome. I wanna play Rec Room because I have a good friend or two on there. I wanna watch TV but I only end up watching YouTube or the same two movies over and over again (Napoleon Dynamite and FNaF). I wanna play FNaF because I’ve never finished a FNaF game. I wanna listen to these bands my friend suggests but I just keep listening to my usual 100+ hour playlist that includes none of those bands. wow this turned into a rant, I am sorry. but yeah, might watch it at some point. I really need to find a show to watch, but not Owl House yet. Maybe Star VS The Forces of Evil. Idk, we will see.

Edited by The First Aifos: 7/28/2024 4:54:10 AM
I wanna play Aragami because it’s awesome.
Aragami is very good, for sure. If you haven't already, you should also check out the Dishonored games. They're pretty similar, insofar as being magic-based stealth games. I never finished Aragami 2 (mostly because it was too buggy on release), but at least as far as the first game's concerned, the Dishonored games have a very similar game feel, but are much more polished. In any case, when it comes to TV shows, what I like to do is watch an episode as I'm laying down for bed. Helps me wind down at the end of the day, and relax. It can be a bit of a double edged sword, because if I get too sucked into something I can occasionally start binge watching, which is obviously not good when I need to sleep, but for the most part it helps me sleep better, and I get through TV shows in a pretty timely manner, while still leaving myself room to theorize and stuff.
but yeah, might watch it at some point. I really need to find a show to watch, but not Owl House yet. Maybe Star VS The Forces of Evil.
Both are very good, and I highly recommend both, but between the two I'd say The Owl House is much better. As mentioned, The Owl House is my favorite show, taking the number 1 spot. Star is down at number 7. Still, both are worth watching, so I'm definitely not telling you to not watch Star, but I would put The Owl House higher on the priority list. If you're curious, here's a list of my favorite shows. I'd recommend all of these. I can give more details if you're particularly curious about any of them:
1. The Owl House - on Disney+ / I watched it on iTunes 2. Steven Universe - The full series is surprisingly hard to find. You can watch it on iTunes, though. 3. Hilda - Netflix only 4. Sofia the First - Yes, it's this high on the list. On Disney+ / I watched it on iTunes 5. Flip Flappers - Mild nudity in this one, but emphasis on mild. I'm pretty anti-s*xual content in my shows, so it's pretty tame iirc. On Crunchyroll. 6. Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra - I don't know what streaming services have it. I own it on DVD. 7. Star vs the Forces of Evil - On Disney+ 8. Amphibia - On Disney+ 9. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - It's an anime so probably on Crunchyroll? I don't know, a buddy showed me this one. We watched it on his thing. Medium amounts of gore. 10. My Life as a Teenage Robot - I watched it on iTunes. No clue for streaming services. 11. Gravity Falls - On Disney+ / I own it on DVD Also 11. Infinity Train - Probably on Disney+? I watched it on iTunes. 12. The Ghost and Molly McGee - On Disney+ 13. The Amazing World of Gumball - On Disney+ And then some runner up shows. I don't know where you can watch these. I watched most of 'em on iTunes. -Dragon Ball GT -Dragon Ball Z -Ben 10 -Xiaolin Showdown -No. 6. I don't recall if this one has any "mature" content in it, but it was a much darker story then most of these, so it might. I haven't seen it in forever, though. -Shiki. This one has, not necessarily gore, but, like, decay? It's been a while, so I don't recall the details exactly.
I also just finished Over the Garden Wall. I'm not actually sure where it falls in this list yet, 'cause I just finished it earlier today. It's really short, but it's really good. I also just started Craig of the Creek, and while I'm only a few episodes in, it seems pretty great too.
