Just speculating but I think it's cause most of the casual player base is dead and pvp is left with the sweats. Nothing wrong with sweat but if that's all that's left in the community, that's all you can match with.
My neice and I are very average players and we get matched either 2+ kds and guilded flawless players

Well said. I play solo. 10-25 matches a night . I noticed it myself that everyone left is pretty above average . Only sweats are left. There is no casual gameplay. Every match feels like you’re fighting for the lighthouse
