No, it's not, and it's actually fun.
The problem with it is the same problem every pvp mode with objectives has: the community doesn't play objectives. That's it, plain and simple. The community treats every game mode with objectives like clash and just goes for kills. Reason being it's easy to pad your kd stats killing people playing the objective.
What's ironic and sad: when the game mode is to just kill, people don't like playing those cause everyone has the same objective, so it's not as easy to pad stats lol. That's why those matches tend to go the timer distance, and people don't engage as much. Like I said: ironic and sad lol.

Awful objectives why would we play them?

I agree. 80%of the people don't know how to play this mode. In most matches I would have 30 crests deposited, maybe a second player with 20-30 and the rest wouldn't even bother. You are supposed to play around the dunk points so that the other team cannot score. There were so many times where the turrets would spawn and half the team would play laning Larry on the other side of the map. Also, the reason Bungie changes the dunk points is to force you to move around instead of camp the same spot for 8 minutes. I don't get why people complain about that. You can also see the timer above it so plan accordingly.

I have no issue playing an obj, like I do in Control, and I still don't find Tribute fun. I think the obj in this particular game mode isn't presented in a fair way personally. The dunk locations spawn in ways that tend to give one side an unfair advantage too much of the time. I really, really, hate the feeling of playing the obj, but it not mattering because the dunk spawns happened to sync up wit the enemy team for half the match or more. If something was done to make the obj feel like an actual give and take I'd be fine with it.

Yeh I agree too I like it as it's different win or lose who cares it's a game

Totally agree with you ... when you play with people that know what to do and know it's a team effort
