Yeah I don’t get what they were going for in this new system unless it was to drain everyone’s resources so people would have to do all the other mundane crap to re-earn all the currency. It’s another example of a Bungo hamster wheel and it’s just ridiculous at this point.

It was to relube and rejuvenate the hamster wheel. Refocus the grind in another direction.

They were going for making rahool more useful in the game other than just going to him on the occasion. The original post is firstly wrong on the amount it costs to focus the engrams. It's only 1 cipher and the engram. Then the old way is the only one that uses shards, and it's still 2 like it used to be before the final shape. There are more sources for ciphers now as well. You still get engrams from the lost sectors. And there is still all the original sources for the shards, but you can also do new activities to get them as well. Just doing the weekly rotating coop mission in the pale heart awards them. I've had at least 2 or more drop every time I've gone through it.
