The fact that this post almost has more downvotes than upvotes says a lot about the kinds of people who hang around these forums. Final Shape IS fantastic, and a majority of people agree with that. Its the minority trolls on these forums who disagree.

Nothing of the sort and you clearly didnt read the OP post. Its stating that specifically its great for soloplaying. On that, it is absolutely not, indeed the very opposite which is why its being slammed. You can not possibly miss the controversy of the new exotic Class items being unobtainable for soloplaying and no matchmaking activity. That's a very poor and greedy game-design decision indeed, made to grab as many lucrative friend referral sales as possible, at the expense of most players.

There are so many ways of finding a single other person that speaks the same language as you and can read a clock. You don't have to encourage an existing friend to buy Destiny if they are not already a fan. Wow.

No way. Unquestionably fewer players want to spend time talking to randoms. That's all it takes, for it not to be to many (probably most, going by the small <15% raid uptake percentages) players liking whilst making it mandatory for the loot and the loot to be desirable and fundamental to the game. Theyve used this tactic throughout but never to this extent. That's why its been controversial. So if they have suitable friends, this absolutely encourages our nagging them for all those who dont want to game and talk to randoms - a likely majority. I know Ive absolutely nagged people into playing because of this deliberate marketing prejudice. Does it FORCE friend referrals - of course not, that would be absurd, illegal and impossible - does it help max them out - of course, 100%. Its a scummy practise that deserves the condemnation its been getting.
