What PvP needs........most players wouldn't like because it would cut off their ankles. It needs a fixed sandbox. - A PvP specific set of weaponry and armour that you only have in PvP. In other words this set auto applies and overrides what you have in slot. i.e. if you all use 140 HCs they're all the same. (Kills the need for constant balancing and evens the field) Connectivity between players stabilizing. A heavier focus to combat cheating. Solve the first two and do well with the 3rd. Then the rest will be worth while. But since we're in the final year of D2's messy Saga. I doubt we'll see any of this.

  • A fixed sandbox simply does not work in this game. Not only would it go completely against the game's identity of buildcrafting, it would make the game even more monotone. The issues of long TTK dont go away by a reduced amount of weapons either. Balancing 150 and 180 RPM scouts in a way that makes both similarly viable stays close to impossible. It also ruins the reward structure. There would be no reason for PvP players to actually play PvP other than stuff like Rank and Triumphs, which most people dont take serious at all. Where other games lure people in with constant unlocks (for example COD camo grind), Destiny 2 already lacks a basic leveling system. This leaves PvE as the sole motivator to play PvP and from what Ive seen, people dont like that at all and would rather have a complete separation. PvP servers would be great, but will most likely never happen, not even in a successor, because it just isnt worth it from Bungie's perspective. Cheating is in good control at the moment and has been for a while now. The only big issue are Xims, but that is not primarily Bungie's construction sight. It is far from completely ruining the game.

  • A fixed sandbox would solve a lot of issues in one swoop. It's not going to be perfect. But damn near close. TTK is the quickest it's ever been at any rate. But since we're this late in D2s lifespan. Hoping for an actual balanced sandbox is like hoping that all the cheesing of PvE gets evaporated. I just gotta accept the awfulness with what little enjoyment the game has left to offer. PvP Servers was never going to happen. They'd have to rebuild the game to do it. I beg to differ. If it's still happening frequently. Then it's not under good control.

  • A fixed sandbox creates more issues than it solves (if any). Even if Bungie was suddenly able to balance weapon archetypes with each other, the PvP would be monotone and half the incentive to play PvP - PvP weapons - was gone. Cheating has not been a problem for months. There are obviously some Xims and suspected wallhackers and such, but it is far away from being a serious problem. It is as good as impossible to get rid of cheaters entirely. It is as close as it gets in D2 atm.

Yep. Fixed loadouts would wipe out all of the balance issues the community screams about. But that's why I said most people wouldn't like it anyway. It would cut out their ankles.
