I have never really used Lament, and the few times I did the Riven cheese, it was with Fallen Guillotine, but this post appears to be so well written that I want to upvote and support it.

That nerf was really unnecessary that sword let alone all swords and glaives are barely being used now especially exotics

Can confirm. Swords barely even cross my mind when I do anything that isn't a cheese move that requires them.
