Cache cleared: received a “verifying content: Installing Destiny 2” page for approx 3 hours, and the same issue occurred after. Microsoft support has been generally unable to help either in this regard Also I confirmed the cache was cleared in its entirety by the console hard reset procedure as described earlier, but a secondary cache clear took place without any noticeable effect

  • Hey there again. Could you try these extra troubleshooting steps: -Your Xbox console is maybe overheating, causing the game and console to shut down. The console needs proper ventilation to play our game. -Your hard drive might be corrupted, either on the Xbox itself or the external HDD you're using - and need a possible full reset of both hard drives. This should be a last resort.

Cooling and Overheating: Tenperature was measured using a non-contact infrared thermometer and temperatures were within acceptable margins according to Microsoft specifications for the device; additionally, the device has a secondary cooling fan currently attached externally that has cooled the device to within the lower margin for acceptable temperatures. Testing on the device with and without the cooling fan yielded no noticeable changes in performance for Destiny 2; the game continues to crash Data integrity: The external and internal drives were tested using the internal data validation suite in addition to desktop software; no issues were discovered in the data integrity of either drive. Additionally, a third drive was tested and data transfer rate was successful and within acceptable tolerances. The original external HDD was reformatted and Destiny was reinstalled both onto the device for testing and onto the HDD and the same result occurred: anywhere from 15min to Two hours of a verification screen, a loading character selection, and a subsequent crash without a displayed error code or indication of what type of failure occurred It should be noted that other games and programs ran successfully without issues on the device, indicating that it is not a hardware issue; At least not of the variety within parameters such as the disk drive disc readers or otherwise. The initial install of the game was done via a disc, however all later versions of the game, including the latest, DLC‘s have been done without the disk as the original disk has been lost, but were purchased through the Microsoft store without issue.
