I was excited for Cult of the Lamb when it was first announced. Unfortunately, it kind of wound up sucking imo. It’s really important for these kinds of split-genre games for the two halves to be working together, but diving into dungeons was actively detrimental to your cult, and by the end of the game the town management sim half was entirely self-sufficient, so there was no reason to dive into dungeons anyway. It’s a shame. When done right, split-genre games are so much fun. If you enjoyed Cult of the Lamb, though, I’d recommend Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Same general premise of CotL; one half RPG, one half peaceful & chill game (in Sakuna’s case rice farming), but unlike CotL the two halves actually work together. It’s one of my favorite games ever. Harvestella’s good, too, but Sakuna is best.
