Why is the blocking feature of the Sentinel SHIELD its least effective feature?

I use it all the time, most Guardians are too daft to know how to use it properly. Remember you Hunters and Warlocks, shoot through the shield, shoot THROUGH the shield…and of course remember to stand behind it 🤦♂️🤷♂️

It blocks fair amount of damage and the 40% damage increase is great but mathematically speaking it’s ends up hurting the teams overall DPS. In PvP, the blocking is horrible. It can barely take a damage while. The super itself is decent but the blocking feature is terrible.

Hear me out here. It's worth it. 40% extra dmg for 5 people is (if I'm not wrong) 200% extra damage, making it worth using if you don't have a well. It even gives orbs for surges. Even if my math is wrong, someone who's just bad at dps could use it and still benefit their team greatly. I like it with ursa furiosa in gms for super spam
