The only 2 high-power activities I've found use for glaives in recently was The Coil (for reasons) and Legend difficulty weekly campaign missions with a team. Glaives turned surprisingly clutch against some Cabal Gladiators and Tormentors with the glaive shield, basically nullifying some of their attacks which would otherwise 1-tap or 2-tap you, especially melee attacks.

Honestly, I forget about the shield most times. Other than using it to proc a perk on the weapon, I almost never block when I use them. It’s mostly stab, stab, stab. I should probably try them again. lol

They won’t dps any major raid or dungeon boss but they will make getting there way easier. Shield and shoot to chunk the big guys and melee the little ones. They also one shot guardians in the crucible. They will shut down any push. The shield negates any shotgun in the game. I did use one to escape a warlocks super but died after I took the shield down, maybe cause I was still on fire? Edit, added ?
