I'm sure it's a very interesting read but until any of this directly impacts the game, I'm not concerned; I'm not on the Bungie board of directors or a Bungie employee, nor do I work for Sony.

  • It's definitely none of my business but it's just one of those things from life when people will be leeching then have the nerve...

  • I'm not sure I follow, am I the leech in this scenario?

No, the people that held, the people that did halo and the taken king and were basically crawling around on the floor stuffing the lowest level employees pockets with cash and prizes, hostage are the leeches. And also some streamers with the threats. The top tier whatever it's consisted of has always thought they new how to make videogames for some reason. Then making money from contributing to the problem is over stepping the amount of leech behavior they should be doing. Just like having a bigger bank account than you would otherwise have were it not for people doing what a lot of companies do not do. But then turning around and just refusing to accept any of the blame compared to the people that didn't get let go. I had always wondered about what was up with the erector set word police. Now it's a little more obvious for people that really pay attention. There's just only so much people should be acting like something is theirs if someone has been gracious enough to give it to them. So some of it is taking advantage.

Well think of it this way: Low employee morale leads to lesser production (in both quantity and quality), as employees wonder if their firing is next. A worse product means less revenue to Bungie, who is actively bleeding money trying to develop Marathon. Less revenue means that Sony takes over the board, and potential big changes to the game and staff could be made. Obviously there is nothing we can do, but clearly community sentiment and “boycotting” of the Final Shape has had its effects on Bungie, problem being that the wrong people got fired from Bungie.

  • You make valid points, but I'm thinking of it this way; Destiny 2, at least until after Final Shape, is very likely either finished or close enough as to make no difference. What happens after hasn't been revealed to us and may not have even been determined by Bungie as of yet. Speculation of the "what comes next" is hardly new with any game franchise no matter who or what company is at the helm and there's nothing for us to do other than our part; either continue to play the game in support of Bungie, showing that we do still want to see the studio and franchise to succeed/continue, or we stop playing (as so many claim to have) and hope that Sony does take the reins and makes the necessary course corrections/puts the final nail in the Destiny coffin. As for the apparent surprise at the idea of Sony taking over, a person would have to be naive (whether by accident or by choice) to not know that when a parent company is unhappy with the results, moves will be made. No amount of "pinky swears" about total autonomy will keep that from happening.

  • You make great points, I do agree that changes would very likely mean an insignificant change in future Destiny content. I did know that Sony could eventually take over Bungie under certain conditions (common sense), but having those conditions now revealed from what was a radio-silent contract signing really surprised me. I wouldn’t be surprised if the higher ups at Bungie tried to investigate who got interviewed to fire them / suppress the truth by trying to hide that IGN article. Can’t imagine Sony being too happy as of right now too.

  • I can't imagine anyone involved being too happy right now, and justifiably so. I haven't read any of the articles or watched any of the videos (my brother insists on filling me for some reason, lol) but it seems to me a lot of them are like those poor fools who found out they were a surprise guest on 'Jerry Springer' so their partner can tell them they were sleeping with their best friend the whole relationship. Maybe I reached a little too far with that comparison, but that's what it comes off as to me; a typical sensationalism play.
