I hate when they go back to old content and try to reuse it for the story. I write stories for fun, and going back to an already explored area for new story points is just not right, especially after it’s been beat like we have with last wish

Why would she construct a lair and not hide all her secrets there?

 • I get what you are saying, it makes sense that they are reusing that location. I just don’t like that they are reusing any location. Last Wish was good because we found her secrets, the 14 wishes, the eggs, and I interpreted that the raid itself was the last wish because of its name, which is cool if you ask me. But they just make new secrets out of thin air, and out them back, as if we haven’t explored it yet. That’s my issue

One of the big issues in years 1 and 2 was we never went back to IO or Titan for anything once we were done there except the for the random one off mission.

 • That’s fair, but those are destinations, not a raid like last wish. Planets are huge, there is so much area that can be used, so they should use them. Not last wish

Not last wish
That raid has been here for like 4 years lol, and the main NPC this season is the ghost of the boss who used to live there. It's neat. I mean, there are examples of it being really bad, like the Titan cameo a couple seasons ago, but honestly reusing raid assets like this is one of the better examples of reuse in the game. So, I guess I simultaneously agree and disagree, respectfully lol.

 • I won’t deny its cool and they are old assets, but you are not getting my point at all. Why are they going back when they can make new stuff? They’re just resting on their laurels in hopes of keeping players interested before TFS

They’re just resting on their laurels in hopes of keeping players interested before TFS
Tbh, this is a terrible season to ask that question cuz we've been waiting for the 15th wish since Forsaken came out, so of all the seasons where reuse occurs, this is arguably the one a lot of long time players (and last wish fans) have been waiting for lol. But, I understand why they do it. They have all these assets, and many of them go unused. Doesn't hurt to bring some of them back and use them again temporarily (since seasons disappear, it makes it a net loss to invest in all those assets only to have them disappear at the launch of the next DLC). I agree that Bungie tends to lean on this reuse a little bit too much, but of all the parts of game development, visual assets (especially in 4K with HDR, like on console) is easily the hardest to create fresh. That's a lot of walls, floors, room decorations, sky boxes, glass, textures, etc that they gotta make, look good, animate properly, light properly, and load into the game without ballooning the game size (4k assets are absolutely massive and why games are hundreds of GBs now). Again, I agree that they lean on reuse a tad too much, especially in some seasons like the return to Titan. I also agree that a lot of the reuse doesn't gel well with the story going on at the time and it's pretty easy to tell that they're reusing assets just for the sake of reusing assets (again, the whole Titan season). This season just isn't a good example of that is all I'm saying. This is probably their best use of reused assets that they've ever done in terms of integration into the existing story and having it make sense.
