What’s the need to introduce sunsetting again?
The game isn’t struggling.
Most players don’t have what a small percentage of players have after years of playing.
So introducing a wildly unpopular thing like sunsetting would be only to appease a small percentage of players that are bored.
They simply can’t put out enough weapons regularly to implement something like sunsetting.
The last thing the gene needs is major changes to create even more issues.

Did you read the post? It's not all weapons, it's crafted ones. And they clearly can, they've been putting out 6-12 SEASONAL weapons a season, let alone the world drops and ritual weapons. They aren't having problems churning out weapons.

Sunsetting gear won’t solve anything at this point and would only create issues. Crafting solves a major issue in D2. Not enough loot worth using. I love my crafted weapons and I have zero desire to see them taken away because a YouTuber doesn’t want everyone to have access to solid 5/5 rolls with some being best in slot. If they implemented any type of sunsetting at this point it would hurt player count for sure. You forget about the sunset my weapons you sunset my business posts? I said the same thing then as I’m saying now. Bungie wouldn’t be able to properly replace sunset weapons in time and they’d be subpar compared to the old loot. I was told how wrong I was and guess what? It was exactly as I posted over and over. Bad weapons, bad perk pools and no replacements for a year at a clip. So no. Been there, done that already and it sucked.

Nah Bungie isn’t removing crafting or sunsetting weapons. It’s YouTubers that are bored looking to stir the pot to get subs. Crafting has made the game better and should have top tier things to craft. There’s plenty of end game loot to chase that’s based on RNG. Trials is completely RNG based loot. They’re starting to walk back presenting sunsetting because it’s an extremely unpopular idea.
