You don't HAVE to regrind anything. Your old weapons will still work.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/14/2023 5:03:17 PMThese people either don’t understand the concept of choice, or they selfishly don’t want other people to have a choice. Crafting and focusing are optional, and this is lost on them.

They’ll work but be inferior. I personally don’t give a crap because I don’t use those exotics.
-
Marginally to the point of negligibility.
-
As true as that is but the community being what it is, the smallest factor gets blown out of proportion. Dead Man’s can have the exact same rolls they have but the community will be like “it has enhanced perks which makes my current one worthless”. Enhanced perks are nice but they only offer a small benefit.
-
It won't have enahanced perks. No craftable exotic does IIRC. But yes, I agree the community is going to whine about a non-issue like they always do lol.
-
No enhanced perks? Well now I know it’s not worth making a big fuss about. I only crafted Revision since Osteo isn’t my kind of exotic.
-
They'll have new perk pools and some level of earnable intrinsics (im assuming like revision zero had), but yeah. If the crafted versions are better, it will be marginally so. Like I don't even think the difference will be as wide as adept vs non-adept unless there's just some OP perk combo, which I'd rather be able to craft than have to sit there and spam the activity until RNG spits out what I want.
-
I probably won’t use those exotics but it really depends on artifact mods next season. Unstoppable scout, Dead Man might be worth looking at.
-
Yeah, I have zero plans to regrind any of it unless there's some wild perk combo that is must-have.

That's a lame argument, sorry. I'm not going to willingly nerf myself if they artificially make an old exotic better by reissuing it as a craftable weapon with added traits. I'm not stubborn, but I don't have to like it. I think the Exotic Rotator has a lot of potential, but it's wasted on making every Exotic that enters it as suddenly craftable.
-
It's not an argument lol. It's just a fact. It's also not anything close to a willing nerf lmao. There's also nothing artificial about a gun with new perks possibly being better than the same one without. You've got a lot of misconceptions you've used to form a really odd opinion. Seems like a big ole you problem, and not an actual problem with the playlist itself lol.

Is disliking having to regrind weapons that I've already worked for and put hundreds of hours into really that odd? I didn't like having to regrind Spare Rations, Mindbender's Ambition, Loaded Question, Wendigo, Chattering Bone, Commemoration, Ikelos SMG, etc. because they were reissued after being sunset or made craftable with better perks and an origin trait, but it's the new normal and whether I like it or not I can't change it anymore. There's still time to change course on reissuing Exotics that players have already put hours of their time into. I don't want the time myself and others have put into a game that we loved to be put to waste again

Thinking you HAVE to regrind them IS the odd part. You don't have to. There is no requirement. They are giving you the option to earn a SLIGHTLY different version. It's not like the crafted version is going to be heads and shoulders better than what you already have. If there is some part of you that feels because a newer version exists, you HAVE to get it, that is a you thing, not a Bungie thing. NONE of these weapons were EVER sunset. Bringing up sunsetting as it pertains to this playlist is completely and wholly irrelevant. Would you honestly rather it all be RNG again? Or is the argument that you don't want the new perks added either?
Thinking you HAVE to regrind them IS the odd part. You don't have to. There is no requirement.
That is literally the entire purpose to play Destiny.
They are giving you the option to earn a SLIGHTLY different version. It's not like the crafted version is going to be heads and shoulders better than what you already have.
My current Dead Messenger with a new trait added alongside or replacing Turnabout is slightly different. This would be similar to the changes they made to Graviton Lance recently. A new Dead Messenger with a trait that can only be obtained through crafting is not just slightly different. Considering that there are many Wave Frame traits that are better than Turnabout, there's a good chance the version players have to regrind for will just be better than the weapon we got over a year ago.
If there is some part of you that feels because a newer version exists, you HAVE to get it, that is a you thing, not a Bungie thing.
If this were about me hoarding 5 variations of a legendary weapon with all different traits, you would definitely be in the right by saying it's a me thing, but this is about an exotic weapon that we've already earned being reissued with a new trait instead of the original just being updated. This is a Bungie's thing and it's something I'm unhappy about.
NONE of these weapons were EVER sunset. Bringing up sunsetting as it pertains to this playlist is completely and wholly irrelevant.
It's the closest experience we've had in game to what they're about to do to already earned exotics. It's a comparison, it's not meant to be seen as 1:1.
Would you honestly rather it all be RNG again? Or is the argument that you don't want the new perks added either?
It seems like you think I've been dissatisfied with how Hawkmoon and DMT are being handled. I'm not. The expectation with them dropping from their respected missions again was that they would be craftable. I actually love the idea of new traits being given to them too. I'm excited to get rid of my 4 DMTs to replace them with 1 that can be reshaped. My dissatisfaction lies in the fact that they're making exotic weapons that didn't even have random rolls to begin with (i.e. Dead Messenger, Outbreak Perfected, Whisper of the Worm) craftable with different traits instead of just updating the weapon as it is or just leaving them alone and letting newer players acquire them as they used to be. I'm tired of having to explain myself further and in even more detail than needed, so if you're going to keep responding with different variations of "that sounds like a you problem" you can stop responding entirely. Let me feel like there's a chance that the time I put into earning these weapons, solving their puzzles, and completing their catalysts won't be for nothing.

Yeah I aint readin all that. Im happy for you or sorry that happened.

Good.

Still a you problem tho 😂
