It's definitely doable. My team was able to finish a full T7 our first try and we aren't the best players around.
Now were the rewards worth it? Absolutely not. So if you can't finish it out...it's really not a huge loss honestly.

I highly doubt you were able to do it first try I've tried 10 times with a couple of other teams with no success on last encounter.
