Hi there!
Bungie is aware of an increase of MONKEY error codes and they are currently investigating. Please do not delete any characters as once they are deleted, they cannot be restored for any reason and all progress will be lost.
Please continue to monitor BungieHelp on Twitter and the weekly blog posts for updates on this and other known issues.

I was an original PC player and I am having the same issue. Is it just because I opted in to the cross save even though I don’t need it? Laid down 70$ for this game and I can’t even play it without jumping through hoops. Is there a fix imminent or am I just going to have to get a refund and forget about this game again?

Still nothing on Twitter and this issue was absent from the Weekly update. I think as a moderator who’s the only one providing us with any update, it would be good for you to go back to the team and check if they still intend to acknowledge the issue via either of those communication channels.

I'm deleting my Hunter. I can resolve the issue for myself quicker than Bungie Help can using that workaround. Keeping an eye on BungieHelp on Twitter when no single comment has been made on this matter is a futile gesture. Monitoring weekly blog posts is setting the expectation that this won't be resolved for weeks. The comms on this matter have been very poor.

Same thing is happening to me. Only played the first DLC of D2 and am picking it back up after I played Destiny since day 1. Can’t use my other two characters instead of my warlock but when I go to shoot someone I get booted back into orbit like everyone else is saying.
