I too cannot join ANY LFG fireteam or friend invites- 0 friends on series X yet 100's online in the xbox app. Have contacted Xbox support multiple times- still no fix.

I have an xbox series X and I'm just like you with the issues. I believe it was a problem at Bungie regarding the sound. Let's keep complaining to Bungie, they have to sort this out.
