It will like be a taken/dominate/mind control sub class.
I mean, we've seen the Witness take over creatures' minds, including our own ghost. Also the taken are creatures which the Witness has fully taken control of.

Honestly I have thought it would be cool if the warlock could summon shadow thrall, just like taken wizards. Imagine a roaming super were you fire darkness blasts and every 2-3 second you auto summon 5 shadow thrall who roam around a 30 meter radius around you and attack nearby enemies.

What, exactly what the shadow thrall do? Tickle them?

In pve they still do damage, in pvp it would act as a distraction since

Since there would be radar ping all over, plus if you didn't shoot them, they could kill you

Or they'd ping radar (same as a crouching guardian) and then go up to you and tickle you. It'd deal no damage however you'd get the debuff "tickled". You can't move properly and you can't shoot. You can only melee. Not glaive or sword melee tho.
