So first off, I understand the point of removing the flawless pool.
Essentially, players who could only go flawless on Sunday last week pretty much stopped playing after that, as the difficulty jump was too overwhelming. Also, those same players couldn't play with their friends if they already went flawless. Really counterintuitive for a social game.
However, with the Challenger pool being purely CBMM and FBMM being a thing, solo queuing is especially awful. Constant solos that just don't contribute to the gunfights. Some are even good at surviving afterwards, even getting kills, but never contribute in team engagements.
Granted this map doesn't help at all. Too many solos fall for the "lane on the stairs and never be able to contribute to B" trap.
And I feel like Bungie not only knew this would happen, but added the double mercy mechanic to combat it. So why give us Labs without that? Doesn't make sense.
And then we have FBMM, but solos get screwd by lobby balancing. And we know that because Bungie said they aren't happy with lobby balancing. So you give us FBMM with still bad lobby balancing, which coincidentally enough, would also be mitigated by double mercies.
Incomplete system plain as day.
It's crazy that we keep getting shipped INCOMPLETE matchmaking changes, and someone expects them to be great.
No. This system NEEDS the double mercy system and better lobby balancing. In its current state, it is just simply incomplete. And I'm honestly disappointed that it was shipped in an incomplete state.
And it's a real shame, because I used to love PvP. I understand it's free and not monetized, but man. I would literally pay more if PvP was wrapped up in the seasons or annual DLC, or it guaranteed ww got completed products.
I ended up flawless as a duo, and I intend on trying again today. So fingers crossed. I also tried three stacking, which honestly would've been fun if I was playing PvP more regularly. But I stopped for a multitude of reasons within the game.

2 RepliesSolo you do not have a chance.

I still feel like there is a lick of SBMM somewhere in the matchmaking, load times would sometimes still be in the minutes for me. On top of still having to carry two shitters of teammates. I’ve noticed that the floor of the skill ceiling has all but dropped out, making it that much worse while still facing people somewhat equal to me.

As a solo queue-er, I can say that it is a miserable time. Matchmaking sucks when solo.

1 ReplyI agree, matchmaking no, lag making yes
-
So far enemies are fine teammates are awful.

This weekend has been weird. I’ve never had matchmaking so bad. I think it’s intentional.

Yeah having people play only during flawless pool was a problem and we had try hards card resetting their cards to farm kd. Bungos solution is make it so it's a miserable experience all the time instead of just Friday n Saturday!! Didn't like dealing with card reseters before? Now you get to deal with those same losers every day trials is available and they get to farm adepts the entire time they farm you for kd. You would think this shits made up at this point lol.

I ran into a Top 500 player that solo queued and dragged my blueberries with the Neomuna FR while his teammates sat back and did nothing. Usually I’d lfg, but 90% of ppl here lie about their KD/actual performance so it’s a waste of time. Most ppl on lfg don’t even know that KD & KDA are two different things. 🙄

1 ReplyMy conspiracy theory on this is that Bungie actually is trying to make people quit playing trials as a whole… And leave it for a small group of players… Now i’m not a fan of SBMM or the flawless pool stuff either but now they claim to have a “practice pool” that actually doesn’t really work… I had to lose like 4 games to get a bot lobby. And those players didn’t even saw my below average -blam!- coming in the match… So also not really fun… Wish i knew a solution but this will likely get me to ignore trials and i had fun before this labs weekend, even if i know solo queue flawless will never happen for me…

1 ReplyIm done with trials If they keep These new settings

2 RepliesAll these changes bungie has made to trials matchmaking are unnecessary. Bungie’s single most successful trials weekend of all time in terms of player numbers and total flawlesses by unique accounts is still that one weekend on burning shrine back in September 2021. They need to replicate the matchmaking of that weekend and leave it at that. People were ecstatic with how trials was playing. People were farming shayuras like crazy and just playing for fun. People were taking their pve warlord friends flawless for fun because it wasn’t a complete warzone under that matchmaking. If that wasn’t evidence enough, in around mid 2022, bungie accidentally replicated that same matchmaking by accident for a whole weekend on burning shrine again. That weekend then became the second most popular trials weekend of all time. Bungie keeps trying to fix the game mode in ways it shouldn’t be altered, all for the sake of casuals who don’t play the mode a lot regardless of how much it’s catered to them.

This weeks match making is just ridiculous

1 ReplyI'm an average player 1.6 kda and feel like I am playing against cheaters all the time in trials. Opponents that only take minimal damage when I shoot into them but don't miss a shot on the other hand and tap me before I blink. It is pure BS for a solo player like me

1 ReplyI found it great solo and awful in a pair. We consistently got the terrible blueberry and the other team got the ace. It got tiring.

Bungie needs to stop trying to make trials better for all the streamers and people doing paid carries. It wasn't the general D2 pop (normal players) that were complaining about the flawless pool, it was the streamers and paid carry services that were complaining and ruining it. Bungie has the data to single those people out and prevent card resetters but that's the only people who stream D2 anymore and Bungie doesn't want to loose that publicity. So for the sake for the 1% the 99 must suffer. Make it that you can't reset your card until it's flawed. Once you get 777 round wins put that account in the flawless pool whether they went flawless or not if their game win ratio is better than 6:1. Make a new card that doesn't allow you to reset or buy a new card that after 20 game wins gets you the adapt drop but keeps you in the practice pool. You will see a huge pop increase if you did this.

1 ReplySuck it up buttercup

4 RepliesProblem might be on the player also, people think they should go flawless every day, every card. That’s part of the issue, I will say though, it’s about time the regular players completely boycott trials and pvp in general. It’s not ever getting better

4 RepliesIs double mercy currently active? If I lose a Match I get loss forgiven then if I lose again I get an x Thx
