Suicide in a game - not a good message and it lessens her sacrafice. Amanda and Devrim are not complaining but merely pointing out the grim reality of their own mortality which sets the story's tone. Amanda could come back later as a Guardian or some hybrid Guardian. This season looks like it's her demise but could be just the start of a new Amanda and a new storyline. Whether Bungie realizes or not or has something planned, the relationship theme of her and Crow are really not resolved. Now that we got the last recording, Zavala mentions that if she came back as a Guardian, she wouldn't have any memory of her former life but Zavala would remind her. With the Traveler damaged, maybe a darker or a lost Amanda emerges. The key things we got here for a potential future Amanda story - her relationship with Crow and her relationship with the father figure Zavala. This is speculation but one thing is certain is that Amanda's death seems a bit off.
the relationship theme of her and Crow are really not resolved.
I think the main point of her death was to make crow grow up, learn how to deal with grief, stop whining and wallowing in self pity. Which he has now done and i am very proud of him.

Crow may fall into a darker path- he could try to bury himself in vengeance but self destruct along the way. It’s even possible the guardians may have to stop him if he does. Amanda and Crow had a relationship. She could have been his salvation but with that now missing, Crow may descend into his old Uldren ways. Some players like Crow and others don’t for being a whiner and for being Uldren - the murder of Cayde. His story has not been atoned, despite the efforts of Season of the Haunted. Zavala saw Amanda like an adopted daughter; her death digs deep into his soul. These two individuals are the focus for a future storyline- With the loss of love and salvation, how far will they go?
