Bungie usually announce a ban wave and there wasn't one announced yesterday.
Have them appeal it. If it's upheld it wasn't a false ban.

The only thing we can think of is when he tbagged some dude in trials he got salty and got spam reported. Decent enough to not need cheats or a cronus, good enough not to cheat in pve My only worry is Bungie aren't the best when it comes to actually ever responding to tickets about bans

All spam reporting does is get it looked into, did your friend ever recover accounts to do stuff? Did they have debuggers/trainers for other games etc open in the background? They only guarantee a response if the ban is lifted or they need more info, otherwise it's left to the person handling the ticket if they want to reply.

Nope and nope. Never recoved, we're on console so we can't really have debuggers like that open.
