When bungie implemented the recov ban, they left a loophole open. They allow us to “play on a friends/relatives system” and because of this, recov services will use a vpn to match the location of the customer.

  • It also says it's not allowed to be used by others in end game content.

The other side of the loophole is that we can “use our account at a friends/relatives house”. Bungie seemingly doesn’t track our devices ip/mac address, instead they just track the approximate location of where our account logs in at which is why vpn’s work.

  • Hell no. I just know how things work. Cheating is an epidemic on console as well (non-recov related) and I know how it works but that doesn’t mean I cheat, I’m just informed. To fix recov problem, bungie needs to require us to only play at our home location with our registered device but I highly doubt they will do this (although they should).
