If you are on the tank that is being transported, it will take you with it, normal
And there are thousands upon thousands of out of map spots in D2
Going out of map is not forbidden and not bannable (unless you use cheats to achieve that of course) and is rarely fixed
It has been known for years that this place has no skybox

Found this spot today. Shown my bro inlaw. It’s wild spot. So large of an are. Made me wonder. Do the devs put these secret passage ways for us elite map walkers to find. Wonder if they know a percent of gamers that have this skill.

Lol holes in Destiny maps are nothing new. It’s just lazy coding and patches made by the game architects to piece together scenes.
